Since the boot cover clip was (probably) for a manual, I made my own from cardboard and super glue. It clips, even though it’s ugly as hell. Oh well - it disappears when connected.

Looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing it installed. What kind of wood is it?

Olive, from a tree my deceased father-in-law grew (and loved the hell out of). Making a bunch of family heirlooms with it to spread around this Christmas: bottle openers, pocket knives, letter openers, and a couple of crosses.

    I decided I deserved a knob.

    It.

    Is.

    Done.

For now, anyway. I’ll probably shape that padauk spacer a little more in the future.

Somewhere in my post history is the free 3D print files for the manual shift boot ring. Been using it ever since ~2017 and it'll outlast my trucks at this point.

I’ve had this skull kicking around the garage for close to 20 yrs.
I’m not sure where it even came from.
Anyway, I bought the trim piece on Amazon.
Sleeved the shifter arm with a piece of an old broken flashlight that I had laying around.
Threaded an 8mm jam nut and rod coupling on the arm and the skull slid over the coupling.
Locked the skull down on the rod coupling with Allen head set screws..
I know it’s silly and a bit gooffy but its ment to be fun and maybe someday I’ll make a cooler wood knob or something…
