    That is precisely what the delrin ring is for in my design. Doesn't get any hotter than the rest of the interior.

    yeah when i drove stick the extra weight of metal was nice with the short shift kit but damn i had to put a cover over it because it burned when the car was 100+ inside. i later switched to a leather wrapped.

    Depends what you need/prefer for mass I suppose. The knobs @7r41lbr34k3r is making are just about perfect. There's plenty of heft there.
