Thank you, I'm loving mine. Gives it a more modern look, I got the tail lights as well. I was coming from a retrofit that I built myself about 6 ot 7 years ago and they started getting moisture. Was to lazy and didn't want to go through the hassle of building another set so I opt for the Alpharex. The beam output is very sharp as well. No complaints, pretty happy with the purchase.

it’s really funny how popular these lights have gotten. I’ve had these for a couple months but have yet to install them. (Nova in jet black) I did a BHLM and ultimate headlight upgrade a few years ago but I’m looking forward to a more modern look and no more hazy headlights that go bad every year after a restore.

Unreal the high KBB is over $26k for a 2013. I sold my pristine, loaded with extra quality mods, 2016 Sport with only 25k miles for $30.5k. Market is just crazy. I am sweating the new 2022 property tax bill for my 2008 and 2012. I for one am anxious for the market to flood with new ones, to tank used values, and bring all vehicle prices back to Earth. It is great for people selling. Not so good if keeping or planning to buy.

KBB "personalized" value for my Truck is $28,860 (pic in the listing). I have it priced at $29,900 to account for the shell and other extras. It does seem like a lot compared to values a few years ago, but at the same time a 20 year old ****box beater Civic is now >$10k, if you can find one.

I feel for those who can't afford to drive anymore, but I think your assertion that "new cars will flood the market" is based on hope and not fact. Reality is that the chip shortage is predicted to last until 2023, especially with China/Taiwan shutting down for Omicron.

Either way, they're not making any more Pyrite Mica Gen 2s.

I don't blame anyone for getting the high prices. I sold my 3rd gen because I hated the powertrain. Nothing financial because it was paid off in 2 years. I paid $14k each for 2 second gens, 1 pyrite mica and 1 speedway blue, and 1 had only 83k miles. I just sweat what the assessors will base the values on for taxes. New ones are coming. Nearly every Toyota dealer in my region has at least 20 in transit. Some have more and some have less. That is what I want to see. People are nuts paying way over msrp driving up prices. They will certainly regret it when the market adjusts. And I guarantee it will adjust. So many people will be upside in car loans and it will hurt their finances. It happened before and it will absolutely happen again. I do love the pyrite mica. They should have carried it to the 3rd gen along with the powertrain. Then I would still own a 3rd gen.

Every new car dealer I've spoken to has had "More New Cars Coming!" for the past 2 years... Nothing against you, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Again, the reality is that it takes a long time to unwind how f'd the supply chain is, and that process hasn't even started yet. I don't doubt it will happen eventually, but the facts just don't support your timeframe.

Even if there ARE new trucks inbound imminently, there is so much demand backlog that prices will remain stable for at least the rest of 2022. The similarities between other "crashes" you speak of do not exist. Unlike the 2008-9 housing crisis, people are not speculatively hoarding 5+ Tacomas thinking they'll be worth twice as much next year. They are buying them because they need/want/love/use them.

    Wow.
I've been thinking of selling my '13 Pyrite Mica OR and buying a '22. I do love the color, and the truck has been problem free. I agree, the color should have been carried over the 3rd gen.

I have owned 6 Toyota Tacoma pickups. Had a 2008 with 59k miles when I bought my new 3rd gen. After I sold the 2008 I quickly realized it was a mistake. The powertrain, as built and tuned, is very disappointing. Was the best looking, and best mpg, of any truck I ever owned. Was in the shop more the 1st 6 months of any vehicle I ever owned. New or used. I have been buying vehicles since 1976. I loved my 3rd gen but was not better than a 2nd gen. Had nicer stock features. After 5.5 years I just got tired of the lame engine and the lackluster transmission. I was also very concerned about the potential of timing chain cover and rear main seal leaks that have been seen in a few with the 3.5. I was extremely happy to go back to 2nd gens. It was either sell the 3rd gen or spend money on a tune in the hopes it would fix the factory detuning. I also had several recalls on it. They even had a recall for potential frame rust. Wish I was wise enough to find a new 2015 instead of waiting on a 2016. I will be very surprised if the 3.5 Tacomas reach the 300k plus mileage of the 4.0 Tacomas. Our 2012 has 145k miles and runs, rides and drives as good as my 2016 with 25k miles. I hope the 4th gen Tacoma is better and has a different engine/transmission setup. The 2016 was reliable after all the bugs were fixed the 1st 6 months and I really did love the truck. After I sold it and bought the 1st of 2 2nd gens I realized immediately that 2nd gens are the best of the newer gens. For miles per gallon buy 3rd gen. For smiles per gallon keep the 2nd gen.

Do you mean "well said for someone from Hertford/Bertie county" or well said in general. It is the Rockyhock/Colerain/Ahoskie/Windsor wisdom speaking. Comes from my youth pulling and stringing tobacco.

Don't know if you are being honest or facetious, but I have my truck priced inline with others that have sold here (as well as its KBB valuation).

    Yep.
Haha, well said in general. Not a big fan of 3rd gens.

I was being honest, and your price point is fair. The market is out of its mind these days... you could get more. KBB and NADA don't pick up market trends too well.

I consistently got between 20.5 and 22 mpg in my 2nd gen before modding it. Now, I'm down to around 16 or 17 after calculating for tire size difference. What I can't account for is the time I just let it run in the kid pickup line or to heat/cool since I installed the remote start. I love my truck, but wish it had more power about half the time I drive it. I'm thinking a regear is one of my next mods.

I work at a dealership and I’m tempted every week to sell my 13 pyrite but I stop myself when I try and figure out what to replace it with, I can’t think of anything to be honest haha

BINGO. That is the real dilemma. I kept my 3rd gen for 5.5 years for that very reason. Every time I test drove another new vehicle it made me appreciate what I had. I do have occasional needs for a truck bed so something like a 4runner or SS Camaro just won't work for me as much as I wanted them. I knew the whole time I wanted to go back to a 2nd gen so I finally got what I wanted when prices got high for selling my 3rd gen. I just got very lucky and found 2 great low priced 2nd gens and bought them way under book. That was just good timing. It is similar to the housing market. I have seen my neighbors, several times over 30 years, sell their nice quality built brick ranch house, up on a crawl space, because the market peaked. More than half had a new larger vinyl sided house built on a slab for the same price. No solid wood floors. No solid wood interior trim. No solid wood cabinets. No REAL fireplace. To me that is not a wise choice. Most times when you sell something during a peak market you end up with something less for the money. If you have a good 2nd gen, and I believe 95% are good, then keep it. I really don't think you will regret it. If, like me, you like the features of the new ones, just spend the money and upgrade your 2nd gen.
