Looks good! Love the giant TOYOTA look too. Should add some more decals to it haha. Consider maybe adding the 4x4 back?

Thanks ! Think I'm gonna add some more tri color decals, maybe something on the front fenders or something on the lower front doors. I just don't want to over do it and make it look tacky haha!

Added a few more retro tri-color decals and put some plate frames on her. Think that should be enough color for now.

Hey, if anyone could help here? I bought this touchup pen to fix this right here. It’s not enough is it?

A local dealer refused to answer that question for me and another gave me misinformation over the phone, stating that it didn’t need clear coat.

I called the Toyota headquarters in Plano and customer care, they were of no help either nor any dealers in the Dallas area.

I can’t find the right clear coat before I proceed with it. Makes the truck look a bit dingy with that unpainted piece, on there before I bought it out of state. Looks like it was replaced in an accident and never painted.

The touch up pen will work on those dings and scratches but not the big unpainted plastic piece. That’s needs to be spray painted. I’m not sure if you can get a spray can of pyrite mica touch up paint. Probably need a body shop to do it. If it were my truck I would just spray paint both of those pieces flat black and call it a day.

I agree with painting them black. Sounds like a simple and cool option. That's what I'd do.

I have used Automotive Touch Up in the past. Has spray can of Pyrite Mica (4T3) and clear coat.

I wouldn’t recommend using a touch up pen for that. That’s a pretty large area to cover using a brush. If you’re local O’Reillys has a paint department they should be able to mix you up some 4T3 and provide it for you in a spray can.

Seconding Automotive Touchup if you don't have any local autobody shops. They're the most accurate "boxed" product, but Pyrite Mica is one of those that honestly varies. Like Denso mentioned, if you have a local autobody that's chill enough, you can bring the Taco, they'll take a peak at the surrounding paint and adjust the standard 4T3 formula to get a better match.

This last weekend. Did a wash, claybar then wax, wanted it done before the nasty weather came. Old girl still looks halfway good.

Got overwhelmed with new remote job, but finally took care of it.

I ended up spray painting it, but it ain’t perfect. Had to get Adhesion Promoter ($40) from local shop and Base+Clear ($50.87) from Touchup Express on Amazon.

To do it professionally might’ve been a better idea, but ehh whatevs. It looks good enough and anyone around town who cares to point it out, can buy me a new front end then lol. Left front fender is peeling off though at the front…

Black would’ve been cool though, but I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off and make it look it good.

I did paint it in 4T3, but I’m considering that for the future. Unlike most vehicles I get, I really want to keep this truck.

I ended up getting Touchup Express, thanks for the advice.

Yeah, after Turd Fergusons advice, I didn’t waste time searching for base & clear.

Probably would’ve been a good idea to go to somewhere local, but I ultimately bought from Amazon. Thanks.

You PNWers and Toyota 4x4s! Always leading us all! Looks good. I saw many great 2nd gens for sale up in Washington and Oregon, but I wasn’t sure if you guys get snow and rust would be a concern like the Rust Belt. Wish I did buy one of em up there.
