    Oh , yep , tampon time .

If somebody wants to spend more money than getting a regular cap to make a custom one that offers less storage area for minimal or no mpg gains by all means go for it .

In my opinion , I would just get a regular type cap , don't like that advice , don't take it . That's a pretty simple concept for most .

    unlear on what sacing is

Tonneau comparison makes sense. Would seem cost prohibitive to do a one off, but would be cool to see it in use and what advantages (if any) it brings for the dude.

The more I see it, the more the framed look grows on me. Thinking about vented windoors

I suppose I should have mentioned that the door could come off without having to remove the entire camper shell. This would be useful for things that are taller than a traditional camper shell. Removing the door for a haul would be a something I could do by myself, whereas removing the camper shell typically is a two person job (although I've done it on my own a few times and regretted it).

    Gotcha

    Sweet sig pic!!!
I've been looking at hoist options for when I do get a cap. I want to be able to take it off and put it on whenever I want with ease. Id like to just back in and pull out of the garage.

I was looking at some hypermiler forums and a bunch of those style caps looked to be aluminum , maybe you could get a fabricator to make one for you

Got my shell off craigslist for $240. Had to paint it (color came out slightly off), repair a crack, and replace window lifts. It's an old ARE. I used two xterra racks to create my shell rack. Had to chop one in half and install the rear feet from the second. Hit it with a coat of matte black paint too.
    imagejpg1_zps94c8406e_fee4891a8b74dcd2f20282448acf8ac29c19fd1b.jpg
Then I added an LED strip to the interior, wired to a switch installed in the back of the bed next to the tailgate
