That is unacceptable. I wouldn't have even taken that home with me. Like someone else said, the installers used their retard strength to over torque the shit out of those windows.

 

Is the pet screen just a heavier screen/thicker screen? I was under the impression it was similar to hardware cloth.

 

It is a heavier screen, not sure of the material but if I had to guess the "pet" screen is made of aluminum. What I don't like about that material is say your dog pushes his nose on it really good it leaves an indentation, where the normal screen doesn't. All you need is spline (correct size), spline rolling tool and some screen. You just have to make sure your screen is nice and tight while applying, no one likes a loose screen. I have done this to my screens in house, so have a little practice...

You should pitch the damnedest fit they've ever seen. Two year old style.

 

My windows on my are shell slide really tight , They are hard to open . Anyone have any ideas how to make them open more smooth in the tracks ?

 

Mine are as well. But my tracks are really dirty. I will be pulling the shell sooner than later and washing it all with a hose, as the windows are a pain to remove.

 

I like the tip-outs on my leer. No seizing from dust and grime.

 

Update... I got a 100% refund including my installation cost. I'll be at the Leer dealer when they open tomorrow morning to order my XR or XL.

 

Just had this put on a couple weeks ago.

 

Here's a few of my issues with my A.R.E. MX Series shell. I went to the dealer today and they said they are going to talk with A.R.E. about replacing the windoor under warranty. I won't know till Monday what exactly they plan on doing about it but this kind of poor workmanship is completely unacceptable. It sounds like A.R.E. is having some serious problems with quality control lately.

You can see the paint starting to chip away on the hinge as the door is binding. You can't see it in this picture but the hinge where the paints chipped is bulged out a bit. It also makes a clicking noise when you open it because of the contact.


The weather stripping on the windoor is also done horribly. It's either cut short or overlapping and there is excess sealant all over the glass.

 

I got mine off Craigslist for $200. It is in rough shape and the manufacturer is out of business. I had to use a motorcycle LED to replace the brake light. So i went the cheap route and got a roof rack off an explorer for it. I'll get it repainted in a few months.

Also it may be for a DCLB but it works for what I need right now.

Access Cab and Double Cab LB have the same bed and use the same toppers. Only regular cab has a different cab angle; no worries with your install.

 

The cab angle seems off is all

 

My shell is off a regular cab. Note the gap, which I don't mind. Easier to clean as stated before.

 

Couple questions for you Guys im about to order mine and can't find the pricing anywhere for optional mods on them has anyone found them anywhere, secondly does anyone know the tint percentage in it since I'm also tinting my windows this week. Thanks in advance

 

Manufacturer info would be a huge help in answering those questions.

 

No idea what shell you're specifically talking about.

A dealer should be able to help you with regards to pricing for the different options available.
Take that number and shop around if there are other dealers in the area. You probably won't be able to find pricing online.
