That's around a $2000 shell. I'd use it fir a few months and make sure you like it. If so, paint it. I would not bedline that nice of a shell, personally. If you decided to ever sell it, I would think it would be tougher to accomplish.

That's what I figured is that if I end up not liking it, I can at least get my money out of it

I've had my A.R.E. for four years now, never had any problems at all. Looks like the quality control may need more work!!

I thought all Snugtops had the frameless back window? :notsure:

Also found a pair of Yakima racks on CL soon after I got the shell on.
(The pirate decal is for my kid. :D)

I searched Craigslist up and down to try to find a used shell. Maybe bigger demand here I guess.

A quick heads up for shell owners that have a boot. A layer of 3M Clearbra I think is a good idea for where the boot mates to the cab and window frame. I haven't had problems with the paint rubbing off with three Leer shells with boots, however this latest Leer 100R the boot started squeaking after a year of ownership.

Turned out the boot had worn rough where it fits between the 3rd brake light and the window frame. A 1" strip of Clearbra solved the squeak. There wasn't any paint ruboff issues anywhere, but I went ahead and did the entire mating area since I had bought a 4"x84" roll of the 3M.

I sliced it into 1" strips and did a double layer, I figured may as well use up the entire roll. Aerospace 303'd the boot, siliconed the rough spot, shoved the shell back into place and voila a quiet truck again.

You aren't being too picky in my opinion. That's very poor work.
