Craigslist special, $1000 only a year old and already color matched to my MGM DCLB. At first I didn't like the tool box on the side but now I wouldn't live without it. And it came with a 400lb Carrier rack as well.

Has anyone replaced the struts on an XQ to make the back open higher? Seems like it only opens to forehead height.

I had complained about the same thing with my xq a while back

I took it back to the dealer and we tried a few different struts without much success. Even an set that was an inch linger didn't work because the door didn't close. We replaced the old set with a new set of the same length and it did help, but only a little

The plan was to try and relocate the strut mounts and see if that helped but I totaled my Tacoma

    Replacement was an ARE

That would actually be perfect but then it couldn't hold the weight that it does.

One thing that I think some of you might be interested in are "hook and loop cable ties." We have some awnings for our shell and the line we run to the stakes gets neatly bundled up and then tied in these cable ties with the hook side facing out. From there I simply stick it to the upholstered interior of the shell where I want it. No more searching through bags or boxes for knotted line.

I have used it to route some temporary electrical wiring inside the shell until I could get those wires into the permanent bundle for permanent install.

Picked up this Thule rack for $100 off CL. Grabbed the tracks from proline roof racks for $50. Way better than $150 for the Thule tracks. Check them out if you're looking to add a rack to your top.
