only if you get those particular windows IMO. The slider windows are a different shape and look awkward in Leers mold. Leer does offer the most options from what i found.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
I've got that basic Leer shell and love it! Really sturdy, I bolted Thule racks to the top and carry stuff up there all the time. The build quality is great... it's been on a lot of long trips and over rough terrain no problem.

Only two things that you should think about.

    1. Window screens. They are non-removable and will get damaged and no easy way to fix/replace them. I just cut my screens out with an exacto knife- problem solved. Better (more expensive shells) have removable framed ones making getting them re-screened easy, and can pop out when carrying firewood etc that may damage them.

    2. The rear-end window has no gutter along the top edge. If you live in a wet area (clearly you don't so no worries there) but like where I live with lots of rain it drips in, pours in actually, anytime the rear window is opened up. Again, better (more expensive) shells have a rain gutter at the top of the rear window.

wolfpup, I have the same Leer and am very happy with it. One complaint however would be that the sliding windows are VERY tight and don't slide well at all.

Have you experienced it, and if yes, what did you do for it?

My 100R is the same way. The previous two (on different trucks) were not like this.

Nice. I have the same model.

I hated the Leer logos on the side, so I painted them to color match the truck. Looks much better now. :)

They are a 3-D flexible badge that is mounted in a slight recess in the fiberglass. I guess you could peal it off, but the recess would still be there in the fiberglass.

Be careful what you wish for. I bought the top of the line Leer Fisherman's package and it's kinda' more of a pain in the ass than anything. It looks great but limits what you can do. There's a company out of Colorado that does soft tops. I think it's www.softoppers.com or some variation thereof. They're pretty sweet.

If I had the space to store the shell for the winter and use the soft top for the summer that would be ideal.

I have a Bestop soft top. It was nice at the time, and around 1/3rd the price of a fiberglass one. However, the zippers are hard to use when dirty, the back window shattered one COLD winter day, the plastic pieces designed to lock it to rails are failing, and the windows are a pain in the ass to get back in.

I'd almost rather have the hard, durable, lockable fiberglass one and install a lifting rig in my barn to lift it off and store.

I had a Bestop before my A.R.E and have to agree with Jon. It is almost impossible to put up in the cold weather (the canvas shrinks). I am very happy now with the fiberglass top. For things where I need an open bed like carrying a tuck load of mulch I just use a trailer.

That's just my personal opinion. The fiberglass shell is sweet but I'd like a soft top for the summer for the beach. I'd actually be willing to sell the Leer shell if anyone's interested. It's in great shape.
