Mine smells a little mildewish on hot days.

I don't keep mildew towels inside of it regularly.

Is there a product I can spray into the carpet that will neutralize the mildew itself? i.e. no Febreeze.

Detailers have soem secret shit. Check the Detailers Secret Shit thread.

Also, maybe a bucket of vinegar over night. Sounds weird, but apparently vinegar is the shit.

I like the XQ but this concerns me. Would feintlrey want a front fold-down with slider, and a screen, and a small, quiet fan of some sort.

    WTF is a "feintlrey"?

    Definitely want...

    Do you have side windows?

I open my side windows every time my wet and stinky dogs are in the back just to give them some air

They usually stay open overnight unless it's supposed to rain to air things out

Can you put a hook on the bed rail to hang the towel? If the towel is a heap on the floor or folded nothing you do will help

Trying to decide between a Leer XR or XQ and airflow is the only reason I'm leaning away from the XQ. Another product to check or try for your mildew smell is www.odorxit.com

I've posted about this previously in this thread, but I used to have the XR and now have the XQ. I think the XQ looks better, but I miss the air flow of the XR. I have a sleeping platform in my truck, and do sleep in there throughout the summer. For my uses, I'd pick the XR over the XQ.

thank you for the feedback! I've read a whole lot of this thread but not all, it's way long! but very helpful. I'm leaning towards the XR for that reason.

The XQ does lack airflow. I'll post pictures of my fan install when I'm done with it. I'm debating hardwiring it with a switch, or leaving it as a plugin for the 12v socket I'll be installing.

String a cord/rope/bungie across the ceiling, and hang the towels up. Keep a window open (either a side slider or the front slider, if you have one.)

Hanging the towels really helps them not smell...
