From what i under stand it can be super expensive to have them factory matched. If i could have found on in the used market i would have prob just painted it matt black.... just my $0.02.

I got the shell pretty damn cheap on saturday, painting may not be out of the question just not sure to go matte or like a bedliner material.

Yea you would prob have to sand and i would recomend rolling it on. I used the roll on Rustoleum brand for the rocker panels on my truck and it worked well. I would stay away from the dupicolor. I didnt have good result with that. The rustoleum bed liner roll on is what worked best for me

btw your bumper with tire carrier is nice. wouldn't mind picking one up if it didnt block the backup camera.

The rustoleum bed liner rolled on with sponge roller goes on like a matte black. Its pretty consistant and didnt give that bumpy "bedliner" finish.

Thanks. Billy over at brute force does a really good job. I think there are ways to relocate your backup camera to accommodate the rear bumper. If i could change anything on my bumper i would have done the double hinge so i would have a half swing out on either side for 2 reasons..... 1) it would split the load if I ever decide to put fuel or fluids on my swing out. 2)i wouldnt be as limited to how close i could be backed up to something and still be able to open up the rear of my truck. I currently have to be at least 4-5ft away from anyting in the rear to open up the swing out and stuff.

You can buy a screen door protector at home Depot for about $30. 1 will cover both screens. I made a template with cardboard then cut with tin snips. I painted it black and looks factory and a lot stronger. Took me less than 1 hour.

Thats pretty good. Just a matter of whether color matching is work $400 to you or not. If i paid 500-700 for a used shell and then had to color match it..... i would prob just be getting a new shell. But if you can get a hook up on the shell then color match that sucker!

Yep...but it's mostly flat surfaces I'd bet you could get her minimally done in about an hour with a sander. My last taco I had a lavender steel and bought a used red topper for 500. When I priced out a body shop repaint it was about 500. ouch. Thought I'd do it myself and priced the paint to match at the paint store. 250+ in paint. No thanks. Rode it with mismatched colors for 10 years then rolled the truck. I ended up doing fiberglass repairs to the topper and resurrected it (and the truck), but by that time the truck and topper had lots of wear and tear on it so I I just finish sanded it with the angle grinder and rattle canned the top and it was good enough from 50'.

Cool! Who needs easily cut through screens when you can have this. Thinking about doing this as well.

    Not enough...
Guys with Leer (or any other manufacturer, really) that have roof rack tracks installed. Mind sharing some close-up photos of how the shell looks inside where the tracks are mounted?
I just bought a set of used 42" Thule tracks that I need to install before I can put on my PrInSu racks and trying to figure how to mount them in a correct way to distribute load and avoid leaks... and holes in my skull from the bolts.
