Talked a local shop into price matching the cheaper shop 100 miles away. Looks like the window comes with the back frame type thing, so I'll just install it myself, just have to wait for 2 weeks. $299+tax

Spoke to my Mercury agent. He told me to call and open a claim. They may cover it with 0 deductible.

Cool. The frame is the part that attaches to the cap, then the two bolts at front and rear top of the glass attach to aluminum flanges that are riveted to the edge of the standard frame. The window crank/ regulator is similar, except it appears to be attached to the glass with adhesive.

Yeah, i should be able to install it myself in 20 min. No need to pay someone for an hour of labor.

Let us know what type of sealant you find in there. I'll be pulling all my glass to have my XQ painted. I imagine I'll just use a bunch of silicon.

Just spoke to Mercury. They won't cover it under the 0 deductible glass policy because its not Toyota part, but they are covering under $50 deductible comprehensive. Told to me email them the invoice after glass is replaced and they will send me a check. Not bad.

    It's done.
It's a Leer 100RRC in barcelona red, with no side windows, carpeted headliner, led strip and removable front window.
It's exactly what I my truck to be equipped with. I just put on 5100s at .85 and am waiting for an alignment.

On my last taco I strapped up to a big round hay bale that was blocking/flooding my stream. I was yanking on it pretty hard in reverse trying to get it to budge. Heard that familiar glass sound...I had shattered my window like yours from the frame twist. Had it replaced with plexiglass.

I will get better pics this weekend, but finally got my 100XR installed yesterday. Very happy with it except the back door doesn't open high enough. Makes the truck ride better. Doesn't seem to have made it have saggy rear yet

The windoors are nice! Your back door opens way wider than mine too. Mine only opens to horizontal.

Anybody removed their side or front windows before? How much of a pain is it?

I just bought a used ARE Z series and took it in to get color matched. The plan was to remove the windows to get better paint coverage. Well the shop called yesterday and said that they tried removing the windows but they couldn't get them out... Just trying to figure out if they actually tried, or if they were just making it easy on themselves.

Also, my top doesn't have the sliding/fold down front glass. And I was thinking about swapping it out in the future. So I was wondering how difficult they come out.

    Any help would be appreciated!

My front doesn't come out (I don't think). It folds down for easy cleaning and has a slider to the cab.

I have a similar situation but with a Leer. However, the window install is probably the same. I discussed this with my local Leer dealer, and he said just zip out all the self-tapping screws on the inside of the frame. I imagine is it a sandwich afair, with an inner and outer frame, and the screws pull it togehter.

I'm going to pull apart and put back together all the parts myself so all the painter has is the fiberglass shell to sand and paint, no hardware. Less labor cost, and no random monkey who doen't give a shit fucking it up, stripping fasteners, bending things, causing leaks, etc.

Preetttyyyyyyy sure this is my favorite truck out there! Especially seeing it loaded up with all those surfboards! Hey Chux, I just bought a DCSB and I'm putting a cap on it with racks. I've had an acces cab with the 6ft bed and Thule racks that slide up and down the rails. I'm worried about the racks on the short bed not being wide enough to adequetly support my 9'6" log. I feel like it will hang too far off the back or too far up on the cab of the truck. I was thinking about also adding racks on the cab of the truck. Do you think I'll be okay with just the racks on the shell? Thanks
