Got my Leer 100R last week. I really like it but the color seems a little off when matched to my truck. I have noticed this with some other caps as well; it seems normal to not be exact as the materials differ.... anyone else have an opinion on this issue?

My Speedway Blue Leer 100XQ matches perfectly.

Did they ask you for your VIN number before placing the order?

They're supposed to get YOUR VIN number and give it to the factory so they can match the paint to the exact color and batch used to paint your truck.

Sounds like they may have cheated on getting the correct info to the factory.

Yes I will take some pix of the top. They did take my vin number and so I'm hoping the paint will match.

I did order a rubber mat for the bed but even after 2 weeks in the open on the bed of my truck, it still smelled like Rubber tire! It was totally multiplied, when it's in the hot Sun.

So they took it back and I ordered the BedRug Bedmat. Not the whole Kit with the sides, but just the floor piece and tail gate piece... $159 as apposed to $450 for the whole kit.

Without having your truck there to match the paint to while spraying the top, a perfect match is virtually impossible...even if they had the same exact paint batch your truck was initially painted with. Paints fade and age.

Truck looks great. I feel the same way with my truck as well, I have a silver 10 LB and it just seems a little off but as you said it is diff material, I think its more to the owners eye than anything. I have mine for 5 or 6 months now and it is seeming to blend much better, but I had an 09 F-250 and felt the same with that cap and it was a century and this is the leer XL 100

Dealer took the paint code from the door jamb and it's a perfect match. Fit and finish is excellent as well. It's gotten a lot of compliments, especially with the Bedrug. Expensive but worth it, IMO.

Shells...We know them by campers here. Honestly I think they're an eye sore. Make the truck look like a lifted mini van. I would prefer a lid like the Undercover. But if you need the "shell" more for function then go for it.

We used to call them Camper Shells back in the day when they were alluminum and wood boxes that went on the back. Now with the molded to fit each model of truck they are much better looking. Shell in my case is for a purpose. If a topper works for you great.
The title is show me your shells not tell us you don't like the looks of them, right?;)

Ok, her's my take on Snug-Top. It fits, Well, Snug...LOL

Unlike the Leer which has 4 screw-down's the Snuggy has 6. The Snug-Top bars on the windoor frame also line up with the Tacoma's. so it doesn't look like your in jail. I m not sure but either leer or ARE don't line up.

I can access the back thru the slider in the truck, and then the slider on the cab. Both sliders i can get to and open from inside Truck cab

Oh!, Since i had the TSB done for Leaf Springs, the rear was raised 2 5/8" from stock. to 27" Now with the snug top on, it went down a 1/2" to 26 1/2" It is still higher in the rear...Yeah! ( No Saggy Butt!)

The SnugTop I bought comes with Carpeted interior, Tinted sliders, Sliding/Fold-down Front Windoor, extra corrigated material on Roof to provide strength, Pop-Lock which hides away, and the occupant can open or lock while on the inside.

I also got the BedRug Mat + Tailgate on order. don't need the sides, because my bed already has sides...lol no really, stuff usuall sets on the grond so i got ground cover...lol

Everthing in it works, no water gets in, windows slide easy, door locks, light comes on...etc...It's just cool.

I also got the Undercover Side Case. Very useful, and if you want with a quick relaese, you can remove it from it's 2 pins. U can also lock the whole cse to the truck as well as lock the top so you cant open it.

    ok, ok pix:

Looks great. did they take out windows before painting? I was impressed with the snuggy that it doesn't squeek going over rough terrain...

ok i got the same exact shell as in the first post, on my short bed. so many times i wish i bought the higher ceiling model cause some things just barely even clear it. other than that its great. i like the look and im not much for the way the taller one looks but i think itd be worth it. but then again if i could have a do-over, i would probably get a soft top.

Yes, they got the shell in without windows, painted it based on the color specs on the placard on my truck and then I chose the windows to put in it. If I had it to do over again, I would have chosen the windows that fully open on the sides-for easier access to the bed. That being said I am extremely pleased with the shell and consider it to be one of my most useful investments on the truck. As far as the squeak thing-I have not noticed-maybe because there is usually too much other stuff banging around in the truck to notice. Squeaks usually annoy the hell out me, so I really do not think that it does make any noise.

I just ordered a Leer 100XR for $1300. I like the look of the windows on the 100XL better, but needed the 50/50 side sliding windows for airflow for the dog. I'll post up pictures when it gets here in 2-3 weeks.
