Nice, where did you find the carpet for the platform? I am considering building one similar or a locking rifle box that I want to cover with carpet and mount up towards the cab.

I've got a leak in the back of my shell. I think the water is coming through my brake light since it has a broken tab. Anybody know a good way to fix it without replacing the whole light? they sell at like 70 bucks :(

Not sure what tab you're talking about but if you want something semi permanent you could always try silicone under the light where it isn't visible...

This. On my 01 Snugtop, it was leaking where the brake light wires entered the fiberglass. There is almost no slack in the wires, and the way they installed it with what also appeared to be silicone sealant to attach the light housing did not help: The ran beads sideways, which pretty much trapped water between the light and cap. After I cleaned up all surfaces, I shot a bunch of silicon into the wire hole and then smoothed it around the hole in a way to shed water over it. Then I applied a series of short silicone beads in parallel front to back, which allowed water to drip or be blown out from under the light housing toward the rear, and also let it dry out more quickly.

    Make sense?

cool, assuming you guys like it? I have been leaning towards ARE only because there's a cap dealer right down the street from me that sells ARE and not Leer.

Just a few expensive & DIY things...
Bought an ARE Overland Series cap with two toolboxes from a local guy who sold his Tacoma. It was sitting on my SSM 2010, but now it sits on my new 15 TRD Pro.
Have some waterproofing to do, the weather seals died on the migration to the new truck and proper wiring for the break lite with waterproof connectors.

Personally I'm not comfortable keeping long guns in the back unless they are in something like a steel gun vault. But didn't want that much weight. I took out the rear seats in my AC and built a platform to fit a 48" Hi lift in the jack area and the target\hunting guns in front hidden from casual view when the door is open. Also have Viper alarm and remote start.

I can get a full 3 gun case in there that a lady down in Iowa makes for the US Olympic Shooting Team. It's tight but works.

ARE MX cap and I occasionally sleep in the back. Built a half shelf in the front part so that I can move gear up out of the way. Playing around with different dimensions I found for me a depth equal to my inseam worked best. To me the headroom and ability to sit up, change clothes, etc. is important. A Cabelas 3" thick cot mat fits perfectly length wise and is comfortable.

Bought cap new 2 years ago and it now has a few leaks that I need to work on around the windoors, not real thrilled about that.
