Also, when I was doing research on shells it kept coming up that Leer's sliding window didn't quite line up with the Tacoma's. They must have changed it cause I'm pleased to say mine lines up perfectly.

Just used a simple LED light strip, soldered to some wire and spliced into my dome light, which is wired to the battery.

cool, so you did that yourself? Great Idea. I like it. Where did you get the led strip lights... How are they fastened to the shell?

I got the LEDs from a local electrical store and this is how I fastened them.

Slight mix-up on the Windoor option. I was looking for the Vented (or sliding) Windoors. They ordered the Windoors. I haven't broached the subject of switching them out (yet).

Went with the Thule racks (longest bars they could get, which turns out to be 79" long).

    Pics:

    LONG bars

After looking at the bars for a bit, I chopped them down to 68" long. It lines up more with what I want.

After a fairly heavy set of rain, I checked for any leakage. One Windoor was leaking, and the two corners near the cab (the passenger side was consistently leaking more than the drivers side). I will have to work on sealing it up sometime. To be fair, it is dryer than without the cap, but it isn't perfectly dry.

Dont think I posted here yet- I pulled the trigger on my dream shell. SO can't wait to get it in.

100XR with PS and DS sliding windoors, removable and sliding front window, grey(black) headliner, and tracks to mount my PRINSU rack.

Selling my old Jason silver shell now! It was built 10-16-2015

Since it's new I would have the dealer make another attempt at sealing it using the tips suggested on the various TW threads.

On the subject of toppers leaking, has anyone had more luck with one brand/model over another?

I have an older ARE topper on my 2000. Doesn't fit perfect and the rear glass leaks a little. My 2007 will be sealed as best as possible when I find the right topper.

My Jason has 0 leakage. I sealed around the bed of the truck before self install and I can spray all kinds of water directly at it and have nothing leaking. It's just not aesthetically pleasing. I hope that my new Leer has the same results.

I have had both Leer '94 and ARE '02. Neither leaked. 2015 dealer couldn't get Leer sealed. Replaced with ARE and no leaks. Leaks probably depend more on the installation than the brand.

Does anyone know of better diy roof cleats to hang a mesh cargo net on in the inside other than the factory leer ones. All I can think of is boat tiedowns

Do you have tracks on the shell? Any bolts there now?
