I would think that one would automatically lay down a bead or two or silicone before you installed your $$$$$$$ cap to make sure it was waterproof. But that is just me. Anybody have any pics with a Snugtop Outback?

Flexibility, in case you need haul something tall/large, or you want to sell it when you trade in your truck. Dealers won't give you anything extra for a shell when you trade it in.

For sure, but you will get more for the truck if you sell on Craigslist if you have a shell and the truck is in generally good condition. The last two toys I have sold had shells and both buyers were specifically looking for a decent shell on the truck. Dealers wont give you crap for a trade in period, technically you will always be better off from a pure financial standpoint to sell private. But indeed, it is much more work.

I'm finalizing my options for a Leer 100R and was wondering what you all thought about a windoor on the driver's side and keeping the standard slide window on the passenger's side. The cap will be used for two main uses: camping and secure storage/luggage hauling. I can't afford two windoor sliders, but I can work two windoors, two standard slide windows, or a combo of the two.

My thought process was to have a windoor on the driver side to access cargo and keep a screened window for those hot, buggy camping nights. So, is having one of each tacky or practical?

I have one standard windoor on the drivers side and a standard slide window on the passenger side of my shell. I bought mine used and it was set up this way and the windoors do make it easier to access things at the front of the bed and you will get more use from the windoor on the drivers side.
Does it look tacky? Most people don't notice it, but you yourself will see the door handles on the drivers side and a smooth side window on the passenger side every time you look in your mirrors. You can always replace the standard sliding window at a later date when funds become available. If you need to see some pictures I can take some and post them for you.

Get the 100 RCC instead of the 100 R .. It's the same as the 100 R but with more reinforcement (it will support more weight on top, etc ...) and the price difference isn't that much more.
