Yeah, you're right. I'll probably be the only one to be bothered by it or notices. Thanks for offering to take pictures, but that'll be okay.

I'll look into the price difference when my dealer is open again on Monday. Do you know the weight load difference between the two? I honestly don't think I'll be putting that much up there...a kayak or two at most. I plan on sleeping in the bed (or a tent) and not worrying about a rooftop tent. I'm actually considering just having them install the Thule tracks only and I'll buy the supports and bars later. I don't have a kayak of my own at the moment, so if the price difference for leaving the supports and bars off is great enough, it'll free up some $$$ for a windoor slider.

The 100R has a roof load limit of 150 pounds vs the 100 RCC which is 400 pounds.

Remember those are dynamic weights, the max while driving at highway speeds. Static weights (when the vehicle is stopped) is higher, though I don't know by how much.

So dynamic weight would be weight of object, and downward force created from straps and/or airflow (or whichever is greatest at any given point)?

Also, does anyone have a prices, makes, and models for new feet and crossbars if I were to purchase those after the fact? I'm kinda confused as to what all I'll need if I buy them after the shell. Thule's website suggests items only based on vehicle make/model, not camper shells. Is a "fit kit" needed? What all have you all used for feet and crossbars for you shell if you purchased them after your purchased your shell?

Sorry if this is off thread/topic. Feel free to suggest a better place for these questions.

I used this brand but made my own rack.

Much cheaper in cost for the tracks compared to Thule and Yakima.

Thanks for the input. However, I'd much rather have the factory install the tracks on the shell than someone else (let alone myself) do it later. Thule is simply the band that Leer offers as an add-on with their shells. Does Leer allow you to use another brand of tracks when you order it from the factory?

Not sure, I also had them pre-install just the tracks for Thule. The tracks themselves are very strong, for the most part it's the cross bars that will limit cargo capacity. Most cross bars are 150 pound limit however, so you will be fine with the 100R for your intended use. For me, I plan on getting a roof top tent and putting up there when I go camping. The tent itself is around 150 pounds and I didn't want to be that close to the weight limit then go bouncing down trails.

That I don't know, I got mine second hand so I added them myself. Somewhere along the line someone added channel mounts for a thule bars. I didn't like how high they sat so I decided to go another route.

Which Thule feet and crossbars did you go with? And did you need anything else to make it work correctly?

Haha, but that joke's been made already.

I'm not sure about Leer, I have a Century with Yakima tracks installed. https://www.yakima.com/60-tracks-w-capnut-hardware If you are going to install the tracks by yourself you will need the crossbars so you can install the tracks the correct width apart.

Yeah, I'm hoping to have the factory install just the tracks, and I'll add the feet and bars later as long as I can figure out exactly what all I'll need to purchase.

If you go with Yakima you will need these parts https://explore.yakima.com/custom-install#fiberglasstrack. Hope this helps.

Leer uses Yakima tracks and ARE uses Thule tracks. The bases that go in the tracks, (Yakima calls them landing pads) fit either brands tracks. The benefit of factory install is that they are warranted with the cap in case of leaks. I'm mechanically challenged so I had them factory installed. If buying new get the coupons on the cap manufacturer's web site before you order.
