You could order the shell with just one windoor instead of 2 to cut the cost, just have them install it on the side you would use the most. You may be able to replace your current sliding side windows with windoors.

I saw someone here who has put braces from the ceiling of the shell (where the roof rack bolts get in), to the bed rails. Doing this redistribute the weight from the top directly to the bed side.

Edit : just saw i've already quoted you about the same thing... :anonymous: Feeling dumb right now lol

Is the only reason to get the fold down front window to be able to access it for cleaning. I am on the fence about getting this option. Is it more prone to leaking since maybe it does not make a great seal when it closes. Can you not just wash it off with a pressure washer nozzle pointed at in between the cab and canopy. Is it worth it. Things I read here seem to say it is the best option they can get. Thoughts?

I personally have never "used" this option, even though I have it. I don't feel the need to clean in between camper and rear window but my truck also lives outside. I might have a different opinion if she was a garage kept truck. I have never had a leaking issue with that window.

Yes, I have this option. Have had my shell for over a year and only put the window down once after a wash. My Rebel doesn't leak, but it's an option I would not get if I had to buy my shell again. A good spray of water between the two windows when washing my truck gets the job done good enough for me.

Well, just installed a yakima rack on my leer shell. Also added a DIY cargo ceiling net.

Looks good. How is your ceiling cargo net attached?

I put grommets in the webbing & attached them directly through the rack bolts. I also ran some alum bar stock lengthwise thru the rack bolts. The bungee cord is simply sandwiched between the roof & bar stock via knot chock.

Thanks. I'll have to look and see if I have enough bolt exposed to do this.

Just finished getting this modded up for hauling a RTT. My cap is just raggedy enough that I wasn't comfortable putting it directly on it. Its an ARE CX model that has seen better days. New struts and I do have keys.
