Found a shell about 3 1/2 away in SoCal and i'm going to go check it out this weekend. The guy is asking for $1500 which seems like a good price for the option it has but I have a Silver Tacoma.

    It's a used Hi-Liner sport

The camping shell has the following extra features:
    - Passenger side sliding window with screen
    - Driver side windoor
    - Flip down front window with sliding middle window
    - 'Snugrug' headliner (carpeted walls and window)
    - 1/2 inch reinforced honeycomb roof

    Thoughts on $1500?

The hi liner is ARE entry model. I got my leer 100r with same attributes for 18 and change installed/wired brand new with warranty. Is your truck a long bed?

Not a bad price with those options. There might be some wiggle room when you get there.

I have an access cab so it's the 6 foot bed. I went to the local Snugtop dealer and was quoted about $3000 same options but that was with the tracks on top. They told me to check back each mon th to see what specials they have for certain options. The windoors are $330 for one side. I've been eyeing CL for the last few months and this was the first one with the features I was looking for.

Yeah I was thinking about $1200, but he seems pretty firm at $1500. We'll see what happens.

Is it the sport model with ther one piece glass door with power locks and stuff? Can't hurt to ask for a better price but travelling so far doesn't work in your favor maybe try and line up other ones to look at

Yeah it's the sports model. Looking at the pictures it looks like the one piece glass door and looks like a general lock, I'll have to find out. I didn't see anything else in the area and I was already planning a trip to Joshua Tree NP and figured that it wasn't too far out for me to go check out.

I paid $1400 for mine. Brand new A.R.E. V Series short bed cap. The local dealer already had one in stock.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
1,200 would be good. Don't be afraid to drive home without it. 1,275 tops

Leer 100R with twin vented windoors

    shell.jpg

The funny part was it was installed during a rainy day with horrendous traffic and I had to drive unfamiliar congestion on a rainy night to crowded places. Was a 'fun' learning curve with the new blind-ish spot.

Nice. Looks like your truck says Stevens Creek, so you are west coast and that Leer must aslo be from their west coast plant.
    1. How good is the color match?
    2. How much was the sliding windoors option?

I'm thinking of going this route, but lilely with the 100RCC.

I went with the 100RCC. All in all I am very happy with it, however the extra roof supports are around 2 inches thick and protrude down into the bed area. Not a big deal really, but I was not expecting it to be so noticeable.

I would love to see pics of this, maybe with a tape measure to help show it. Sacrificing internal space is not super desireable.

After measuring it's actually only 1", but with a short bed and dark grey liner it feels like its larger than that.

Interesting, thanks a bunch. Looks like they run nearly the full length of the roof, and that your roof rack rails (Thule?) are fastened between the reinforced area and the outer edge of the roof, correct? I'm on my phone at the moment, so not optimal for viewing your pics.

Correct on all points. I have stood on the roof with zero flex. It is stronger than I thought it would be. Still, the extra bracing is still higher than the windows so it's not a large issue, just makes it look smaller that it is I guess.

Just picked up an ARE CX Series with a Yakima wispbar HD rack. Got it for 480 and a 4hr round trip but I am super happy and the rack was a plus. Also has the headliner and slider front window. I'll get pictures up soon.

Color match exceeded expectations. Looks right on the money to me. I got the vented windoors for 200 a piece.

I only got one windoor and I regret not getting both sides., I will likely add the other at some point. The one I got is on the drivers side, not the dealer recommended passenger (curb), side. I get more use out of it on the drivers.
