Yea I priced it out and it's around 400 plus shipping for the rack not including the tracks. It's def going to come in handy with the 220lb load rating, slots built in for t nuts and the tie down points on the outside edges of the bars. I am planning a RTT next year so this was a bonus that it could support the weight easily.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting a shell. What can I tell her to convince her they aren't "old manish"

A lift and agressive tires with a shell doesn't look old manish, but just a lift on a stock truck does.

My wife said the same exact thing. I just kept being persistent in getting one. Then one day I found one on Craigslist an hour away from me so I called her from work and said be ready were heading north to get a cap. After having it she actually likes it. It is super useful if you don't haul big items. And you basically have a huge trunk.
My 110lb dog likes riding back there too. I bought a Toyota rubber bed mat so she doesn't slide around.
I think they make the truck look better, more 4 runner like.

I changed my mind on that. I was mostly trying to get a good trade for something that may catch my eye. I have issues with buy, sell and trading.

The more I thought about it the more I couldn't do it. I took the ad down a few weeks ago

Tell her it's better for insurance BECAUSE it's old man-ish!

Trust me, you will drive slower and the next thing you know your blinker stalk will be broken in the left turn position and your seat belt buckle will mysteriously have scuff marks from the pavement on it. Just accept it! :p

IF I had to be serious though, they're great for keeping things dry. Like groceries or project materials!

Having a canopy is like turning your truck into a reversible SUV.
