I used AllPro. It worked well and is still on. Cost me around $65 iirc. I don't think there is much difference for just a leaf. Leaf packs, yes, but just a leaf I wouldn't worry to much about brand names.

I have heard people having problems with the shell being taller then the cab

I called ARE to confirm and they said the cx series is using the same design that was for the second gens and they are redoing it

The reason I choose a v series instead of the cx

Not sure about Sumosprings. I have the add-a-leaf. It added about a 2" lift. Made the ride firmer and the truck felt more planted. Stopped the wheel hop in the back end. Increased load capacity. All in all it felt like a new truck, or rather, how the truck should have been made from the factory.

VW settlement money will most likely go towards an A.R.E. Walk-In. One WinDoor, drop-down front window, etc.

Loved the MX shell. Especially liked the walk in rear door for camping. It was a great awning when the whole door was fliped up, but I most often just used the smaller glass door for access. Expensive if new, I found mine on CL after waiting patiently for years. Missed the tailgate too much so I sold it. I honestly regret doing so. That thing was sweet. Currently running a Softopper, I think I'm hooked on Taco Toppers...

Version one of my DIY Cap Rack complete. 1x2x1/8 tube. 53 inches long by 47 inches wide. Entire thing made out of scrap pieces I had laying around. Spent ~$25 for the Thule Tracker II M6 nuts and bolts from etrailer dot com. Mounts are heavy duty hinges for a gate that I got a long time ago from a farm supply store but never used.

This thing is über strong. I can stand on any one cross bar with no deflection. I weigh 195 pounds. Mounts are solid as well.
