My leaks seemed to be near the front, definitely not tailgate (that's a different story :)). There's water in the carpet liner of the shell along the front and right side, below the window, and then running down the sides to the bed floor. Not sure if the wet carpet is from leaking down from the window(s) or seeping up from a leak between shell and bed, or gaps in the bed. I did add some weatherstripping for my tilt-down window, seems to have helped a bit, so that may be the source.

Leaks near the front with wet sides along the carpet is what mine is currently doing. I'm headed back to the dealer today for a third attempt to fix it. They feel it's the cab end bed rail that's letting in the water. They did a water test and saw water coming in. They're going to pull rail off and run a bead of silicone in attempt to eliminate issue. I've tried everything and it's frustrating as hell so hopefully this works. Not a shell issue but taco bed design issue. I've seen other threads on here about this so I don't feel as bad anymore

Over GVWR and I keep adding more metal

First shell was a cab-height fiberglass shell with raw fiberglass inside. I picked it up cheap after I bought the truck several years ago (2010).

Second shell was a raised shell, or tapered shell, or mid-high roof... whatever you call it. It was carpeted. But old and the windows kept exploding, so I bought a new shell, and a new truck

Just picked up a 2007 TRD Off Road, and threw on a utility shell as soon as I could. My plan is to tint the windows, add security screens, add a 270 degree awning or 2 separate awnings, lights front and back, as well as kayak and fishing rod mounts. I've had a sleeping platform in my 1999 since I purchased it, and will build a new one for the new rig. Old rig is up for sale... I think... Hard to part with it! But excited for the new one

Built v1 of a sleeping platform inside of my TW-Series shell this weekend. I built 2 benches along each side of the bed that sit on the lip & wheel wells, which are held in place by a tarp bungie to the D-ring tie down in the bed. The center section consists of a simple piece of plywood which rests between the benches, and can be removed easily for "almost" full bed use.

Best of all was the $6 LED string lights I picked up off Amazon!

For me, Dakar leaf pack since that's what I've tried. And because I have a shell, sleeping platform, and bumper, I added the extra leaf to the leaf pack. Handles the washboards, potholes, and forest roads great

i'd probably say Dakar leaf pack. if you can do both that would be great. I was on a budget when I bought my suspension set up so to supplement for the aal I bought sumosprings bumpstops.

Can you add the 3rd leaf with everything else stock in the back or is it better to add bilstein or ome?
Im thinking bilstein up front on stock coils. I want a smooth ride keeping it under 3"..just dont know what to do about the back to gain an inch or 2

You can get a helper spring (not AAL) if you're on a budget. But I don't think the vehicle-specific extra-leaf would work on stock leafs. Even if you're on a budget, pony up the cash for an OME... new springs and shocks front and back
