Oh yah! Saves your bed from deforming and such, plus adds another tie down point, or a bottle opener, depending on the type you get.

I still call shenanigans on these beds deforming all that much...

deff adds a nice tie down point though.

even with a cap and rtt and more crap up there I do not see my bed sides splitting like others suggesting.

my 2012 has had a cap on it just about most of its life now.

my 2013 had a cap for a year and half no other weight on top and a little bit of offroading. I didn't think mine were separating but i purchased and installed the total chaos ones. passenger side was straight zero issues.......driver side was tweaked at the top more so than at the bottom

I see more what seems to be a separation between the two rear bottom corners of the cap than I do the two rear tops corners of the bed.

If this makes no sense I will add a picture in a little bit.

Thanks man. Really want to add a windoors to atleast the right side. The Leer dealer said he'd cut me an awesome deal since he thinks he has one or two in the back of the warehouse.

It's caused by having bed racks, bed caps, tire carriers, etc... and offroading/trailing your truck. The bed flexes alot and when you have something tying the two bedsides together they can freely flex independently causing the cracks.

I started getting a gap between the right bedside and the tailgate when I had my toolbox and tire carrier mounted. I ordered BENTRODDERS bed stiffeners and installed them before getting my cap.

I still call shenanigans, I see these things come with whacky gaps from the factory

not bashing the product and not saying it is a waste of money with no use....

it looks like a nice product and deff has some function...

I simply and leaning towards the school of that that our beds are not splitting in some crazy crazy way requiring these bed stiffeners stat like some are stating.

ill prob get some regardless :bananadead:

You can see the bed rack that bed has installed in the picture. My guess is between that and offroading contributed to the bed cracking.
