I found a used camper that just needs a new rear hatch. I'm guessing I would just need to go to the dealer to get a new one?

I'm not sure how long ago you got your leer, but from what I read, the vented windoor on a shortbed wasn't an option 3-4/5 years ago. Not sure how much that's true though..lol

    Need your input fellas:

Local cap retailer quoted me for a Leer 100XR, with windoors, sliding front glass and interior headliner for $2000 out the door. Good price or not?

I requested quotes from leer, are and snugtop. They were all over that price. I'd say you're doing pretty good

Yep. I just got a quote for an ARE V series with only vented windoors and roof tracks (no crossbars) and it was $2,100.

$2000 doesn't sound bad for a leer. I paid $1899 for an ARE Z series a couple years ago. My father in law just ordered an ARE Z series and he paid $2100. I would have preferred a snugtop but no dealers in my area.

Yeah the snugtop looks really nice, never personally owned one. I had a Leer on my last truck, it had the cables for the latch, the mechanism fell apart one day and I had to break a window to fix it. My dealer recommended the ARE he sells both. So far it is a good cap, the latch mechanism uses bars, no cables. My lock does get sticky from time to time and has frozen. I carry lock deicer/lube now. That is my only complaint with the ARE.

I priced out that shell with those options and the equivalent century model here and everyone was closer to 2500. Finally found another dealer that sells raider brand (another version of the exact same thing) for just over 2000. So I think yours is a good price.

Id say fair price. We just ordered a Snugtop HiLiner Sport. Oversized sliders on side, headliner, keyless entry, yakima tracks, fold down front slider...2500 installed.

The further you are from California the higher the price tag. Plan a vacation out here and save $500 bucks or so.

Seems like a good price. Go to the Leer website. They always have coupons for free shit or $$ off.

I'd love to show you my cap, but I CAN'T BECAUSE I CANT FIND ONE!!!!!!!! Sorry, end rant. I was scheduled to pick up an ARE from Pittsburgh last friday, in good condition for 150... yes 150 dollars, but the SOB sold it out from under me. Sigh, maybe some day.
