Cool, There's even more longbed caps out on that side of the state anyway. I looked for two years for a shortbed cap, drove to Park Ridge, NJ for it a couple weeks back.

I'll look around that area for one for you. Also check out the Northeast craigslist thread in the regional section, tons of caps listed on there all the time.

wow, I can't believe I never thought to ask someone to sell separately. I have actually been using searchtempest.com in an attempt to find one, and I have seen both of those, but never even considered asking them to sell separate. Hopefully this revelation will get me under my cap sooner than expected! Thanks very much for your help sir.

Go over to the northeast CL thread and post that you're looking for a longbed cap for a 2nd gen and they'll start posting all the caps they find from all over. A member from here told me about the cap I bought that was listed by another member. Here's mine. It need a new lock (no key), some chips painted and a new rear lower weatherstripping piece for the back window but for $400 I wasn't going to pass it up, especially since it is color matched already.

I've been checking it out since you mentioned it. I'll make a post here shortly. Thanks for all of your help. Hopefully I can get just as lucky!
P.S. That's a mean looking rig you got there.

Also check out the small car lots. I found mine posted on CL, called the carlot and asked if they would sell just the shell from the truck, a trip to the bank and an hour later I was a proud owner of a used shell. You can also sign up for alerts on CL, when one get listed in the area or area's you sign up for you will get a email showing the listing.

I jut picked up this Leer 100XL (I believe it's an XL) a couple weeks ago. I need to seal the side windows better because they are leaking some when it rains.

Now for the rant and the need for ideas of how to remedy this issue. The main thing I absolutely hate about this caps design though is the back window. The back of the cap slants forward and when I open the back window when it's either raining or even just wet all the water just runs down off the window and into the bed all over everything I have in there within a foot of the tailgate.

I can't be the only one that has dealt with this. I've always had caps that had a piano style top window hinge so the water would run off to the side and not into the bed. Any helpful ideas of how to fix this or pictures of what you did to fix it would be awesome. Thanks.

Hopefully I get sent out that way for work here soon. One of my hobbies when I get moved for a week or so at a time is to scan craigslist for new deals. I've gotten tired of seeing the same damn posts every day!

I'm sure someone here has a much better solution and is going to make me look like a dick. The only thing I can think to do would be to redirect the water with a bead of clear silicon... Or just keep a towel in the bed.

Maybe use some black stick on body molding.

Truck caps leak, period. You can lessen the amount, but it is not an SUV. I have had all major brands, in different price points. They all have leaked to some extent, mostly in the tailgate-lift gate area. Tailgate seals help, but the transition between the truck and the cap is tough to seal, especially going through a car wash. I keep a towel in back, soak it up and move on, it does get frustrating.

It's the design of the back window, cap and hinges. When you open the window the water on the window goes down into the bed because the it's a frame less window. I can't seal it with silicone, when the window is open there's a good two inch gap between the cap and window.
