I might end up selling the Leer 100xl on my 2013 Tacoma BAJA to get an ARE CX cap. I like the look of the CX more, I had one on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. IMG_5950.jpg

When the guy took my windows out to paint my cap the passenger side window leaks. I also get water in by the cab on both corners. Before I put the cap back on I used some cheap ass RV and truck cap weather strip I found at autozone. I think that's why I'm getting the one leak. As for the window, idk. I guess I'll have to take off the 400 bolts and find out :frusty:

might be trading my bed rack for an ARE Z series. But I'm concerned about the weight rating as i plan to throw my RTT up top, plus 2 people. anyone have any experience with the Z series and RTTs? Are they strong enough to take that load?

One of a few reasons that pushed us to the snugtop we ordered. Has a molded lip that channels water to sides when you open rear window. May want to take a peek at one if you can maybe you can rig something up that would do the same.

Long shot here. But does anyone know if a shell that's on an 02 short bed will fit a 12 short bed?

I just got this 2001 ARE Short bed cap for my 09. It's not snug at all.. that might be the same with an 02 and 12. I'm ok with that, the inside fits just fine.

I drove it from 300 miles on a rainy day. The bed was dry and I didn't have any tape on it. Getting painted tomorrow and finally getting the water proofing done. I couldn't pass it up for $240

As long as your happy with it is all that matters. I myself couldn't deal with it being that way.

I probably couldn't deal with it if I was to have it on the truck full time. But, this is just for our going away trips.

Wheres the best place to pic up a used shell? I have been hunting for 6 months. haha I like the are Z but now Im open and I like the flip up side windows for function. I think access to the side would be great when camping and you dont want to crawl through.

I looked for more than year. In that time I saved enough to buy a new one. TW members often post pics of the sweet deals they find, and they are amazing deals, but I never found one.

I finally get to play. We got this installed today. Snugtop Hi-Liner Sport, fold down front slider, keyless entry, over size side windows with slide out screens, yakima tracks, headliner. Its pretty awesome!

Made some blinds for the inside of my shell this past weekend. Started out with cardboard templates of the windows and then cut reflectix insulation to size. Attached it to the window frames using velcro strips
