I used 100% clear silicon to seal the bolt holes, and thus far have had no leaks. As far as the power for the lights I'm undecided, I have 12v power ran to the bed currently ( for the existing light inside the cap ), but I have been tossing around the idea of running a smaller solar system to power a computer charger, cell phone charger, and some interior and exterior LED lights. I'll keep you posted!

Here's mine. It says "Crutchman" on the ID plate which is the name of a company in south-east Virginia that sells truck accessories. Their website says they are an "Authorized A.R.E. Dealer" so it's probably an A.R.E. It was on the truck when I bought it. It had also been Line-X'd or Rhino-Lined when I got it.

I have a Geo Adventure Gear GT-140 roof top tent and awning mounted to Yakima bars on top of my Leer cap. I get around 16 mpg with a mix of highway and city commuting.

Dynatrac ProRock 60 Rear Axle, that is important enough.
So I found out that if you put 5% tint on a camper shell on that already has factory tinted glass.... it makes it very hard to see out the rear view mirror... but it makes is even harder to see into the camper shell no matter what time of the day.

Edit: I should clarify... when I say makes it even harder to see into the shell... I should really say pretty much impossible.

that's a nice clean looking install and finish, nice job. I'm just narrowing in on what lights to install. Those look like LED tape strips are they? how is the light output measured, lumens? any idea what your light strips are putting out? either how much power they're consuming or lumen output?

    thanks,
    Pete

Thanks. Big props to my friend and old roommate on for doing a majority of the wiring, soldering, and shrink-taping.

The LEDs are a light strip that can be cut about every 3". So we measured the lengths for the sides and the back, then cut the strip, removed the clear rubber/plastic coating to reveal the copper leads, and soldered +/- wires to connect the strips with some heat-shrink tape to protect the joints.

This is the light strip I used (12V / 60W). They are PLENTY bright.

Rayhoo 16.4ft/5m Flexible LED Light Strip 300 Units 5630 LEDs Waterproof DC12V 60W Light Strips, LED Tape(6000K White Light)

I removed the adhesive tape from the back of these though because I didn't think it would hold well. Instead, I used the following 3M adhesive and they have held perfectly.

    3M VHB Tape RP32 0.5 in width x 5 yd length (1 Roll)

I'm 99% positive it was a rock shot up from a lawn mower. You can see in the bottom right of the window, where the glass breaks like it was impacted

That really sucks. But I guess it's just bad luck. What's the cost to replace the rear window?

I couldn't pass up this deal so I picked up this cap on Tuesday. Has anyone successfully matched a cap to pyrite mica? I'm undecided whether to keep it or try to find one that already matches.
