I was going to get an A.R.E. Z series I chose it mostly for the keyless entry. I had them price it out with vented windoors, duel LED rope lights, fold down front window, roof rack track and misc. extras. The total out the door with labor and tax was $3,532. OUCH! Had it ordered and made the deposit. They later told me that A.R.E. could not complete my order. Seems that they won't put windoors on the Z series unless I pay an extra $400 for "engineering". I canceled my order and got my deposit back. Now I'm going to order something else but not necessarily A.R.E.

The Z series is not designed for windoors. It has a high end look that just wouldn't work with windoors.

I originally wanted a Z series but end up getting a CX with windoors instead.

    That seems really high priced.
My ARE MX with walk in door was only slightly higher than that, out the door. The walk in door is 1500.

All dealers are the go-to for ARE. No direct connections are available. Maybe check another dealer for price quote next time, before you put the money down.
    I wish I had.

Had my ARE cap for awhile now only use it during winter months.. Always wanted a light but didn't want to run wires. Found a led light at my local tractor supply store powered by ( 2AA Batteries) Loaded the back of the light with 3M Velcro and it stuck perfectly to the roof of the cap! Some offroad and doughnuts for testing purposes and the light is still in place! Light is centered just inside the rear window can turn it on and off while standing outside the truck with or without tailgate open. Cheapest and easiest mod to date!IMG-0625.jpg

That cap is super clean and I really like the overhead storage plus you make me wish my truck was a DCLB!

Cap came on the truck when I purchased it last Christmas but since then I built a roof rack, added a ARB 2000 awning, Mt Shasta extended CVT, camp LED pod lights on the side and led strip inside the bed, I figure I got about 1500$ Into it so far haha never ends!

I was on the fence between that and the one I got. There's times I wished I went with the 180. Can't wait to see pics.

I actually bought this at AddOn accessories on Williston Road though I've bought shells from Tom & his son-in-law at Catamount in the past. Both businesses have been around 25+ years & my experience with both top notch.
I went Leer over ARE because of pricing. AddOn had a special running during the month of October with $200 off & free installation (A company sale not through Leer).
