Hey you're a short bed with vented\sliding windoors. Some folks here aren't able to get that with their LEER dealers. Maybe it's a 2nd gen but i dont see the difference in design with the 2nd vs 3rd gen bed size.

I ran into the same thing. For some reason the vented windoors are not an option for the 2nd Gen and i have no idea why.

I called around to 4 Leer dealers and they all told me something different, some yes, some no.

I had seen pics on here of 3rd gens having them, so it was frustrating when the dealers could give me a straight answer.

Finally found a half competent dealer who assured me the 3rd gen topper could have them, and 2nd gens cannot.

Never got an explanation..i think it's because they arent use to the 2nd gens havin them, and just assumign 3rd gens cant either

This is fucked up. Because this is what I want to order next. I need to talk to my dealer and show him these pics. The west coast LEER factory is about 30 miles from my house. Next step would be to march in there and ask to see someone.

Why not just go with a Snugtop since you're on the west coast and avoid all the hassle with Leer and ARE?

i see you have a 2015, and as I was told by msot dealers, sliding windoors was not an option for 2nd Gens (leer for sure) , i think you can get sliding windoors through ARE, but they are a different style than what i have. side window is cut into thirds, with vented window has the middle section.

So i just called my Leer dealer who i bought my camper from (i have vented windoors my 2nd gen) and he's unsure why they're not able to get them since it's an option you can ask for when you order them. The only reason he can think of (which he states it doesn't make sense) is dealers may differ from coast to coast.

you may be in luck since you're in this side of the coast.

I've been looking to possibly replace one of my windows on my snugtop Rebel, normal slider w/ pet screen, to a vented Windoor. I've had my shell for about three years now and I saw someone with a vented windoor and was like WTF, was that an option when I got mine? Called the guy I purchased the shell from, he said its a newer option, about a year old is what he told me. Reason I got sliders with screens and not windoors in the first place is the dog rides in the back a lot, i mean a lot, and wanted to the option to be able to open both sides. I asked how much it would be to replace one side with a vented Windoor. He said $300 for parts and labor. Still thinking it through.

300 doesn't seem too bad. It was 225-ish per side to add the option from the factory on my shell.

    Picked her up today.
    ARE Z Series
800 bucks which included install. No tax, no questions asked. The color is slightly different so I gotta repaint it but other than that I'm extremely happy with the shell.

Looks good! I wouldn't bother repainting. After a little bit you won't notice any difference at all.

It's my first shell and I am not regretting this purchase at all.

Question for y'all, what's the go to roof rack for shells?

Depends. Do you just want a couple cross bars, or a full on rack? If a full on rack, you can't beat prinsu for the price.

I'll have to ask my magic 8 ball, tends to give great advice. I love the look of both but I'll probably go Prinsu for the front and I'm unsure of what I'll put over the shell. It gives that "fuller" look I like.

If you're gonna do prinsu for the front, do the rear too! Just send it.

I got my ARE CX installed yesterday. Im really happy I went with ARE as opposed to Leer. Mostly because of the windoor slider design. I spent the majority of today installing tracks and Thule roof racks. I am super happy with the shell, during install the guy put a decent scratch on my truck so im not too happy about that but I got it to mostly buff out. Im going to take some pictures tomorrow
