Show me your shell!

For anyone that has purchased an ARE Z Series shell; how much did you pay? I was quoted $3,000 out the door for the shell and tracks on top to add a rack at some point.

 

There are other options that determine the price.
Windoors, left/right/both, folding down front window, etc.

Oh ok, thanks. I have no idea where this shell came from, and it’s probably 20 years old so there’s no telling, but at least I can go on the leer website. This helps a lot.

 

Picked up a Snugtop Sport Hi-liner Friday night. I honestly wasn't into these shells but after trying to stuff my tonneau I decided to go big. It sure changes the look and now I have name it "Hard Shell Taco."

How are those lights holding up

 

Anyone remember what size Yakima rack is needed installed on a short bed camper?

 

Do you mean the track length? Crossbar width?

Copy - I bought 60” ones and cut them down because for whatever reason, they were cheaper than the shorter ones. I think mine ended up being a little longer than the 54” ones...

 

Got a short bed? Did you install them yourself? I thought it was around 56 inches but wasn't sure

Just kidding... I just went and measured, I cut mine down to 48 inches.

And I did do the install myself... It wasn’t too bad, just measure at least 5 times before you start drilling into the cap haha! Lay down painters tape over where you plan to drill, it will help prevent the fiberglass from chipping. And don’t skimp on the silicone sealant for the drill holes.

No problem! The Yakima track kit will come with a tube of rtv silicone... And I haven’t had any leaks from the roof since I installed the tracks in May 2016.
