Not a hard job... Hardest part is just making sure your tracks are even, both front to back and side to side.

And it’ll save you a couple hundred bucks from taking it to the camper top dealer!

Ya called today 100-300 for installation did you buy it off Amazon? The kits with bolts don't come with silicon. I already have extra bars and feet

I ordered my 60” tracks from here...

    https://www.campsaver.com/yakima-tracks.html?_iv_code=N8-CMT-29951-8001135

Think it was around $95 shipped... I only bought the tracks, as I had the landing pads, towers, and crossbars from my old truck.

Look at the top of the page, they have a 20% off code listed, plus free shipping.

And I’m pretty sure the silicone was included when I ordered too.

Just make sure you wait to burn until the project is complete

Can anyone take a photo of how their shell is spliced into their taillight? Mine shorted out last year and caused my whole dash to blink when the blinker was on or dim when I hit the brakes. They disconnected the wiring because it was shifting out but I’ve since purchased a new wiring kit for it but am a bit confused as to which wires I need to tap into.

The shell will sit on top of the black plastic trim/bed liner of the truck.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the Leer topper splicing into the tail light? I need my 3rd brake / reverse light to be working!

As @Coolerman said the trim pieces stay on .

To add to that some shells don't wrap around and cover the trim and some do .If you don't like the look of the exposed trim/bed cap then you need to find a shell that wraps over it.

I think some have a thin strip of weather stripping that goes between the shell and the bed too.

Thanks! I used water-proof deck stain (2 coats) and good ol' Dap caulk around all edges/corners to water proof it. I can take pics of the exact product brands when I get home. I'm actually thinking of making a thread for people who want a fun DIY and also a cheaper alternative to buying a name brand topper.

I must say I admire the enginuity.

I would install a PopNLock tailgate lock and move those rear door locks to the inside

Weather stripping is a great option, That's what I used for my shell to sit on my bedrails. $3-4 for a whole roll at Home Depot

What are some of the cheaper options on the market right now? Hate how the sites dont list prices.

I went on "Search Tempest" the nationwide Craigslist and couldn't find what I was looking for so I bought brand new. $2k later
