Here's my aluminum that I got in December. Had to fight with a wind door leak took a few trips and a couple rebuilds finally had them put in a slider now she's finally dry and I'm loving it.

Ideally, that would be my first choice, but without a dealer nearby, and Toyota's being a rare breed around here (closest Toyota dealer is 3hours away), I was hoping this cap would fit.

That being said... it doesn't. lol! It's roughly 3" longer.... :\

    In BFE????
I cannot go anywhere here and not see a Tacoma, much less a Toyota. My wife quit responding to me pointing out all of the Tacomas I see.

Not sure what BFE stands for... lol.. but I live in Northern Western Ontario Canada, in a town called Hearst. The population here is roughly 5000 people. There are 3 dealerships... Ford, GM, and Dodge. Most people own these... with the occasional people who will travel the 3hr drive to buy something different. lol

I'm happy to drive Toyotas... alot easier to spot in the parking lot, over a sea of chevys and Fords. HA HA!

This might be a silly question... But on the Leer caps, the sliding front window, can it be opened from the window of backseat of the truck or do you have to climb into the cap to open it? Just ordered a Leer 100XR on Friday.

    My ARE, same as above.
I can open the truck side in the truck, and open the cap side in the cap.

What do you all think about this ARE for $750? I'm pretty sure it is a CX model. not to be greedy but I see some of y'all finding nicer carpeted models for $500. I'm reluctant to jump on this one.

Not bad but not great imho.
Having it carpeted is a deal breaker for me personally.

Does anyone in here have any experience with the Silver Sky Metallic (1D6) versus the Silver Streak Mica (1E7)?

Will it be entirely obvious if I put a Silver Streak Mica shell on my Silver Sky Metallic gen 2? I'm guessing... Yes.

Nevermind, I found some photos in other threads where folks have done this. It's pretty obvious. So I'm back to either looking for a silver sky, or one cheap enough to offset the cost of repainting it.

Where are you located, I might be selling my silver cap. Not sure what the differences are between the two silvers. I bought this cap recently but I think I might just have to buy a new one to get a color matched cap with windows and options I want. The cap is carpeted, has reinforced roof, slider windows front and sides. The silver has a lot of metallic in it so I'd say its match yours.

It would need a 1D6 paint code on the placard, where the serial number is. I'm down in geoGeor though.

    My cap.
Think I'm going to buy some brackets that go into the rail system and build a system to support my RTT. Might actually just attach the RTT directly to the shell.
