@Blackout14, thinking "outside the cap " may be the way to go. Those sort of vents are really tough to work with. But lo, behold your Prinsu right above. You you might be able to fab some sort of easily attached/detached rigid mini awning up there.

    I believe it's a Yakama, not a Prinsu...

That is a Yakima rack on top of my old truck, mega warrior. I use the same setup on the new truck. I have slept bone dry in major downpours. It’s a Kelty tarp, one pole and some tie down stakes. It’s nice to be able to open the whole backend and not get wet. Quick setup and take down.

I use the Kelty trap for a quick setup. I have an REI screen room for a little more protection.F5701AE8-6111-429B-B04C-D88201256A72.jpg

This is, given that the frameless doors pour water into the bed.

    Or wear a wetsuit.

Not sure how it attaches. Looks like a tripod on the roof. I guess the plan is to just let it blow away.

    2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road
I just picked up an ARE CX Series topper for my 2019 DCSB Off Road. I waited about six months after getting the truck before deciding on a solution for the bed. I went from a 4Runner to a Tacoma, so I missed having the dry/secure storage of the 4Runner. I also need to carry kayaks and a canoe on the roof. I looked at soft toppers and all sorts of bed racks, but everything I looked at was about $1,000. I decided if I'm going to spend $1,000 I might as well invest in the fiberglass topper.

In the end, I picked up the ARE CX for $2,500 installed (purchased April 2019). I was originally going with the ARE V series, however, the CX was only a few bucks more and came with the carpeted headliner. I decided to go with windoors (non-sliding), folding/sliding front window, single twist knob in the back, LED light strip, door switch, carpeted headliner, and Yakima racks. I went with ARE only because I had a few friends that had them and were happy with their toppers; Leer was the other top contender.

Cap World had the cheapest price around. They were easy to deal with and the install took less than an hour. It was a full four weeks from the date I ordered the cap to when it arrived at Cap World. Fit and finish look great and the color matches perfectly. I'm still getting used of not being able to throw an assembled fly rod in the back (without opening the rear windows).

This forum was instrumental in helping me decide on a solution for the bed of my truck so I wanted to share my experience and final decision! 57998208830__44D38B15-25F4-44EE-9C2D-F9DE6901A6DF.jpg

    ^^ Very nice.

You will love the Windoors - for me, they were a game changer.

After months of searching, finally found a shell on craigslist for $200. No broken glass or arms and is somewhat color matched.

    Not going to brag.
Dude, you're quoting a post that's 10 years old. Technology has certainly changed and at the time, SnugTop didn't have that feature.
