Mine was clamped down for years and I was once making a trip across the Atchafalaya Basin bridge. In the review I could see it wanting to unass from the bed so when I got back home I drilled holes and bolted it down with 1/2” bolts. Problem solved.

2.5 inch lift, 265/75/16s Smittybilt awning. Custom Bed Stereo. Rear View camera. Light bar forward and backwards. Front cooler rack. Leds front and under steps. Garmin off road gps. Garmin one road GPS . Two different units. CB, Roof Rack with custom Tent mounts. Traction Boards. Bliston Shocks.
Changed a lot of things on the front and top. Wanted a grill at the beach and thats why I added the smittybilt awning to get it on the side of the truck where the wind would be down. Found a used aluminum hitch rack on marketplace and that is where I carry the coleman tailgate grill. Big cooler is now in the rear off the rear hitch. Love these set ups you guys have especially when you add the solar. My camping days are over at our age but love looking at how you guys are fixing these things up for off road fun. Awesome units.

I’ve wanted a hitch mounted grill for some time now. One of smaller round ones made from heavy pipe, 14-16” OD maybe. The mount look like regular 2” square tubing but have a concentric section of 1.5” that would telescope out and use the tailgate as a counter. Put it on a small riser to bring it even with the tailgate also, and have this be a pivot point, too. Then grill would scope in next to the closed tailgate when not in use.

I also want a sweet hammock swing, too.

So...kids throwing rocks, BB-gun, etc...I have a busted window on my canopy windoor. Anyone know if a single pane can be replaced or if the whole thing has to be replaced?

It is my understanding (I’m no expert) is that manufacturers replace the whole windoor. I would recommend going to a good snug top dealer and ask them. Obviously if you catch the SOB that did this they will pay for it and it would be the whole windoor. I had a similar problem with a topper decades ago, shot out buy a kid with a BB gun. He was caught and had to pay to replace the entire side window (mine was one of those 50/50 windows. The place would not replace just one side, but the whole side. In the meantime the little brat and his mother were renters and moved out of state and I was left holding the bag (sort of speak) Good luck with this and I hope you catch the SOB that did this.

Hit up your local glass shops before hit tying up your shell’s dealer. Plus, if you catch the SOB I’d haul their parents down n on it, too.

I drilled and mounted tracks on the outside and used some spacers and nuts to bolt this on. They don’t stick out as far as it seems I have little rubber caps covering the ends just in case

Nice smart if you can find some cheap tracks, I was referring to the molle not following the shape of the glass. Nonetheless great idea man!

I did 5% on mine but I got it from WalMart. It was a quick, cheap fix and now it’s faded terribly. The 3m I paid to get put on the front is approaching 10 years old and has a slight fade to it. The 1.5 year old WM tint is terribly faded and even behind the OEM tinted glass.

Are you able to see out the back while driving (.i.e. being able to see out passenger side for traffic or back window during day? What about at night?) just two days ago, we had a female looking into vehicles with tinted windows—obviously looking for a smash & grab in our neighborhood. She was picked up by police eventually. Can someone see inside when you do this tint? She was cupping her face trying to see inside tinted window vehicles during broad daylight!

I only did the side windows. I left the rear factory. Side vision is severely limited this way so you’ll end up relying on your side mirrors more. Spatial judgment and familiarity with your truck become paramount. If I sit and check texts or emails before leaving a store parking lot I ‘have’ (OCD?) to get out and have another look before leaving. I can also parallel park in less than 3 moves usually.

As for peeping? You can only see in the back glass. One reason I’m asking and ordered some mirror tint. I’m going to do the sides and then see if vision if enough I can do the back glass. Also looking to insulate the shell itself. Suggestions welcome. Thinking of 3m spray glue and that bubble wrap stuff.
