Great idea. That extra headroom helps.

Top's dirty from sitting to the side for a while, but at least she's not naked now.

Need to get her cleaned up for the trip so I can go get her dirty.

You can usually find replacements on eBay with that model number or the length and strength in lbs.

Thanks Brother! Best job in the world.

The guy I bought it from wanted to upgrade to a shell that could support a RTT.

I found a cheap set that extend a little longer that fit a Jeep something. Got them fairly cheap off fleaBay. Just need to verify that it’ll close fully. Extended and compressed lengths.

I ended up stopping at Advance and getting some armstrong ones due to time constraints. Given it's just the light cap glass and not a full on hatch back I didn't see the need for anything premium, just don't want the glass falling on my head during my trip with some other TW folks this weekend.

They actually had almost exactly what I needed.

    The original lift supports:

    14.4" 24# 10mm ball studs.

    Replacements:

    14.5" 25# 10mm ball studs.

Works perfectly though they are slightly larger bodies.

I almost liked how with my wore out ones I could place the glass where I wanted it (straight out) and it would stay (until it didn't) then with a slight bop it would close all the way (until it started just falling) but the new ones open it full each time and require light but constant pressure to close.

Ah well. At least it won't fall on my head again.

Mine were worn out. The new ones are slightly longer and will raise up a lot higher now. You can stand on the tailgate if need be.

    Yeah same.

I think it was all the weight of my stickers that did my old ones in.

Long wait to get it delivered but finally got the Leer 180 installed. Went thru a do-it-yourself high pressure car wash and I was surprised that it did not leak anywhere.. I did add some efforts to fill the small gap in between the front and side rails which appears to have worked.
