Discount Camper Shells in Long Beach is where I got mine. It was a Snugtop Rebel, so I'm not sure if they're a ARE dealer, but price was lowest anywhere from OC to LA to SD.

Looks good. Black out the hood for a killer combo.

Remote start w/ vehicle control and locator, Prinsu rack w/ Cali Raised Light Bar and 360 LED lights, LED Bedlights, Tailgate lock, 3" Lift, Wheels and Tires, Raptor Lights, LED headlights and fog lights, Blacked out LED taillights, Front windshield eyebrow tint, Rough country bed molle, 8-gang switch to control LEDS, Dominator D6 running boards/side steps, Blacked out sequential mirror turn signals
That's a good idea, i think that would make it look really good. Although I'm not sure I would go thru the hassle of removing the roof rack and lights just to vinyl the roof.

After lengthy, mostly unfruitful search, found/bought similar vintage shell as my truck.

2004 Leer 100R. Side windoors, front slider/drop down window.

In process of replacing all rubbers/seals/t handles/gas struts and having paint matched. Good resource for most Leer/ARE OEM replacement parts and staff was both knowledgeable and helpful: https://www.siraweb.com/

    Couple questions: Any other purpose of the drop down front slider other than making it easier to clean?, and;

Any downside to having a light colored bedliner sprayed on the raw fiberglass interior? I'd like to clean up the yellowed interior and soften the sharpness of the raw fiberglass fibers when the dogs/grandkids inevitable rub up against it. Dogs shaking off wet/
muddy coats (ditto grandkids) eliminates carpeted interior.

Thanks in advance for the shared wisdom.

The drop down window is really nice. Hard to clean between the cab and shell otherwise. I wouldn't have one without it.

In my previous taco, which I owned for 17 years, I never once used the drop down window in the shell.

In 5 years I've never cleaned between my topper and cab.... I think I've opened my sliding window twice. To throw trash into the bed. I'm probably a slob I guess.

LOL. I think that makes you normal. The idea of being able to clean the drop down window is good in concept, but not in practice for many of us. First, you've got to want to clean. After leaping that hurdle, you've got to clear out all the crap in your bed so you can access the window on hands and knees.

On second thought, that window isn't that dirty...

What I find surprising is that after 4 years of ownership I’ve never cleaned either surface and yet they don’t get as dirty as the rest of the truck does in a matter of weeks. But still, I can appreciate having it there as an access point for roof connectors.

Just picked up off of Facebook marketplace. I know, bad nighttime pic. I will try and get one when light out. Not a daily driver, just a play vehicle. Still only 6,000 miles on it. I just wanted something to give some security to things in the bed.

Those of you with the Snugtop Sportster, is it pretty easy to replace the pop out lock? I bought the camper used, but I seem to have an issue with it popping it back out even in the lock position.

I'm sure it's pretty straightforward, but i haven't had the chance to look too much into is as I just adopted a pup. Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas!!

I have the Rebel with the pop out lock and would love to change it to the upgraded version. I went to a Snugtop dealer and they told me I would have to replace the entire window with new lock in it for $500. So I called Snugtop and they told me you can source the parts and replace it but dealers choose to upsell the entire window because they make more money and don’t have to do the labor. But nowhere could I find the parts to just upgrade it. The pop out lock can be finicky for sure if you don’t have the key turned in the right direction when you pop it in place, it won’t lock and pops out. And even if you have it right sometimes it takes like a dozen pushes to get it to lock in place.

I hated the lock on my old SnugTop CabHi. The lock would sometimes just decide it didn’t want to lock and would take like a dozen attempts to get locked. One of the reasons I went with the RSI this time but they have their own lock issues as well.

I'm definitely running into the same issue as well. It's also a pain when I only have 1 hand free and I have to fiddle with keys and the handle. I was hoping I could also swap it up a regular handle, but looks like I would have to source the parts for that as well. I appreciate your input. I may just buy a new pop lock handle and mechanism for about 30 bucks...and attempt the replacement. I'll keep you posted should I come across any other alternatives.

Advice? Bought a Ranch 20220105_164740.jpg topper new and the color doesnt match perfect. Also, the overhang seems a touch too much? What to do? Paid $1800 with sliding window and dog screen. Will post pics out doors but its easy to see colors don't match.
