When my bed is empty the truck is perfectly level, but I should mention that I have a 1.5” leveling kit in the front.

I should have listened to everyone here who says that the AAL is a waste of time and just got the full leaf pack. Live and learn I guess!

I guess it really depends what you get.

I was looking at archive garage AAL and you literally ADD it onto your existing leaf springs, turning it into a 4 leaf spring, instead of REPLACING it with your factory overload spring and still being just 3. They claim that it increases load capacity by 3-600 lbs. I'm leaning towards it but not 100% sure yet since I haven't visited any topper shops to pick what I want.

Yeah, I kind of figured I would be fine with an AAL because my bed is empty unless I’m on trips.

But the truck is barely level with the bed unloaded so now I have to spend more money on a full leaf pack at some point in the next few years. I wish I had just spent the money the first time around. I’d recommend just going with a full leaf pack and the “buy once, cry once” saying.

Oh it's awesome, don't get me wrong, but I kinda have buyer's remorse...haha. I bought it because it has a static weight of I think 800lbs for cargo on top, perfect for a RTT and a bunch of other gear fully enclosed and secured inside the bed, but it's really hard when I use it for practical things like hauling wood, chairs, furniture, etc. And if you've ever seen a pic around the internet of a Taco that rolled over on the highway with the RLD in tact, that's what sold me on it! I'm actually trying to get rid of it, preferably someone in the SoCal area, and possibly buy something else. Maybe either a bed rack, sliding cover, or something else. Still haven't decided. Just trying to figure out how to sell it at this point. LOL. I think it's perfect for anyone that uses their Taco exclusively for overlanding or camping. Me, I use my Taco for more practical things, with the occasional camping trip in mind.

I did that with my 5th Gen 4runner when I got Kings. In your case, you also lifted the front 1.5" so its a bit different from what I'm planning to do.

I bought a used Leer 100XR from another member about six months ago. Carpeted interior, dome light, sliding windows, and fold-down rear window.

It's been great. Don't think I'll ever go back to no shell. Makes everything so much easier; camping, long trips, groceries, etc.

I just installed the OEM Toyota tailgate lock and a Pop & Lock kit for the shell to lock it all with the keyfob.

It came with no rails so I added some Front Runner rails last week and only took about an hour. The plan is to get a matching Prinsu rack for the shell and move my RTT back there.

(LOTS of research shows it'll probably be fine, but I know, I know, according to the internet it'll burst into a cracked flaming fiberglass mess as soon as I bolt the tent to the shell)

I need pull the shell off on a nice warm day to silicone the bed corners and rails, install a new seal, and add a tailgate seal. I don't think Toyota could have made the bed less watertight if they tired.

I'm running an Icon Add-A-Leaf, Fox 2.0's, and Total Chaos bed stiffeners. I added a front bed rail from a second gen, and plan to add a few more clamps all around to insure it doesn't shift around like I've seen a few do.

How do you like the Icon Add-a-leaf so far? Have a topper but I don’t carry gear around unless I’m camping.

I have the Icon AAL as well and I like it a lot but if I could do it over again I would just buy the full RXT pack right off the start. Nothing wrong with the AAL but it would prevent me from having to spend more money down the road whenever these start to sag. Icon definitely makes a great product.

Leer 100XQ with a full Victory rack. The rack sure comes in handy hauling 4x8 sheets of plywood and drywall, that’s for sure!

Have to agree with that statement too. The AAL has been great and Icon makes a good product, but I advised my buddy to just skip the AAL and got straight for the RXT replacement leaf pack.

Arguably less work, and better long term performance.

Picked up a used RLD design canopy. Pretty well made. Loving it so far.

Anyone have an idea what these clips are for? The fell off my side window today of the canopy. They appeared to be clipped to the window.

They might be “stops” for sliding windows, snap into the tracks.

Yeah they clip on to the window frames to help keep the seal in place mine fall off all the time too you can bend to fit a little tighter. I am going to put dab of silicone on each to keep them in place
