Got quoted $4133 for a 100XR pretty much fully loaded. Vented side windoors, headliner, keyless entry, folding front sliding window, led long strip light. That’s with their “promo” this month including the headliner and keyless entry for free. All installed.

Been getting quotes for the ARE CX Evolve and Snugtop Rebel too and they’re all around the same price, ARE being closer to $4500 and the Snugtop Rebel just under $4000. Pretty much same options, fully loaded with vented side windoors. I just really can’t justify spending that much on a fiberglass shell that can’t hold that much on top. These pop up tent canopy campers are sitting at anywhere from $8-15k fully loaded and truthfully may just go all out for that instead.

This is an accurate price range for all the quotes I got as well when I was shopping around. I wound up paying almost exactly $4K for my ARE CX. Pic of mine from last week for fun…

I paid about the same for my LEER 100XR, with all the bells and whistles.

    Thank you so much!

I definitely need to do my research as far as strength goes because I would be mounting an RTT. My truck is a daily/grocery getter so I don't need all the bells and whistles but definitely want to buy once-cry once.

Alternatively I've been looking at the tonneau with a rack option but at that point your halfway there with price.. At least with the shell I can put the dog in the back.

I’d check used shells & then go from there. You can find a decent used one for under $3k but you gotta be fast esp if it’s the right color

It's my escape pod, that's how I rationalize the time and expense it has taken to build it. I hate living in the People's Republic of California, but since I'm stuck here, it's my way of getting out to free states like Arizona, Utah, Nevada.

I looked for a long time for the shell I wanted and just ended up buying new. I wasn’t picky on color but I wanted sliding windoors and I couldn’t find them used. So I guess my advice would be, don’t be picky and get what you find. The windoors can be added at a later time from a Leer dealer, of course I found that out after I purchased mine.

I have been searching for years for a used speedway blue shortbed shell and I finally found one. It also had a frontrunner rack on it which is cool. It was a 11 hours round trip to get it but for the price it was worth it.

For lighting on the inside, does anyone have any battery powered suggestions? I was thinking of velcroing some led light strips in there for an easy solution.

    Hi neighbor

    Looks awesome

I have some rechargeable lights I've used velcro to hold/mount.
They do come off often when off roading.
I actually just use a head lamp most the time.
Has a red light thats nice to help keep bugs out.

Hey, you don't happen to need/want a diff skid do ya???
