The bigger ones for me were the LEER decals (removed immediately) and then the logos on the sides (replaced with TRD’s from eBay).

Also, I couldn’t handle the clear tails so swapped to SR taillight assemblies for a darker look. Same as the 2016-2020 pro taillights I believe. All the new ones are just too busy for my taste.

I have Leer shell as well.. It sits overlap the bedsides and covers the bed rail caps.

Back the day, such as 70's, 80's, they sit on bed rail, no overlap.

Looks good and nice truck! Similar to mine:

I have had 2 ARE caps a midrise MX and now a cab height Z series they do have more of a flush fit over the leers ive seen but there is still an overhang gap just less.

I'm definitely OCD because that slightly less overlap, slightly flusher look on your ARE there feels substantially more pleasing to my eyes. I'll just have to get used to mine. or sell it! I learned resale of toppers is not great.

overlap doesn't bother me since it functions well which it keeps water out. Only the bed rail on front which the dealer had to put seal in them. I wish they add overlap on front of the bed instead of putting seal in the gaps.

I thought the Snug Top caps sit on top.

Wondering what cap I could get if I replaced my bed rails with KB Voodoo. Picture is from 2021

Snug Top does sit on top but the sides sits overlap like Leer and ARE shells do. Take a look at the pictures of Snug Top shell here:

I guess Id like that. But the kb voodoo are 1/8" thick. I forget how tall oem are, on 2nd gen. I think 5/8" or something. Wonder if there would be contact between the cap and bedside

Picked up a Cement Grey (my truck is Silver Sky Metalic) for a steal at $700. It’s a V series I believe, but for what I paid I’m happy. I also have the bed lights in my truck which really work amazing with the camper shell.

I am sure it would be fine. And I am sure it doesn't matter how thick it is. If you are really concerned about it, contact the shell dealer in your area and see what they say about that before you can get a shell installed on yours. Shell installers have been installing the shells for years and have seen several types of thickness on bed rail moldings.

One of the Tacoma owners on here has shell installed on it without the bedsides moldings.

If you have the tracking bars on the sides then your shell can be installed with track based clamps like mine. Otherwise they have several types of clamps to keep your shell secured on the bed.

Can’t remember if I posted mine. It’s a Leer, but I forget the model. I bought second hand and painted it with bedliner.

About the install some yakima tracks on a snugtop supersport.... not sure if it's best to mount through the thicker honey comb area or off to the side of it. Thicker area is 43" across. Off to the side is starting to get into the outside curve of the canopy. Your thoughts and how far apart are your rails?

Mine, installed at the factory, are installed outside of the thicker honeycomb center part of the roof. Just inside of the curve.

If you bolt through the honeycomb, you must ensure a water-tight seal. The honeycomb will absorb moisture and rot. Also, tightening the nuts into the honeycomb will crush it, reducing it's effectiveness.

What canopy and what's your distance between the tracks? Looks like if i go 1" ouside of honey comb they'll be 45" apart. Not sure of maximum track distance for a rack with 48" cross bars (Sherpa Crows Nest.)
