Nope it doesnt sag at all. Without the center piece it did sag quite a bit...even with 3/4 ply... and i dont weigh much (155). I did it that way so the space below the platform is still completely open. I use rubber made bins that are shorter than the standard ones you see and they slide under nicley. I usually just keep the cooler in the cab.. fold down the single seat in the back.

Anyone have an opinion about Snugtop factory rack track install vs. having the dealer do it? Seems the same and $60 cheaper for dealer, plus I can customize the location. Not sure if the generic tracks are as good or better than the yakima tracks Snugtop uses. Thoughts?

You lose your warranty if the rack is not installed either by the factory or by their authorized dealer. Might not matter to you, just throwing it out there.

Factory installed is the way to go IMO

x2. I'm kicking myself for not having the tracks installed by the factory.

Why are you kicking yourself? Bad install job? The warranty is good with dealer install, no issues there. I can tweak the location (bar spread) to maybe match the cab, and $60 cheaper. Dealer says the install method is the same. The only difference I know is that the tracks themselves are not identical, but I have no way of know which ones I like better without seeing them first. Maybe it doesn't matter and I am just getting picky, but it's all new and I am paying bucks....

Because the people at my local snugtop dealer are a bunch of morons and I don't trust them to do a good job. I would rather have had the factory do it.

I'm confused, are you having your dealer do it? What are you saving 60 dollars on? Not having to send it back to the factory?

I dont have the Supersport cap yet. I am determining my options. So if I go with dealer install (apparently the are experts and experienced, warranty stands), then I save $60 off the price of factory install.

:DWell, I did it, my ARE MX should be here in about three weeks. Will post pics as soon as it gets put on.:D

I do have a quick question: I have the ''evil spacer lift'' (came on the truck when I bought it used and gonna let it ride till it breaks something- not a hard core offroader- that's what the cj7 is for) but any idea whether or not I'll need an aal when the shell settles? Just curious

I have a Leer 180, and my truck is pretty much dead-level.
I am in the middle of shopping for a 'leveling kit' up front and an AAL in the rear.
Anyone running a similar setup care to share their solutions or specific recommendations [I'm not looking for personal options on strut-spacers].
    Thanks ~

edit- p.s.- I also have +/- 100lbs of gear/tools in a gang box in the bed which definitely adds to the bro-sag.

I have the tsb pack, with an aal, and 885s up front. My truck sits perfectly level. I need to buy some dakars.

    Got a question fellas,

I've begun saving for my camping build for my truck and i've got a couple questions about what type of cap i need.

-I plan on having a shell that matches the lines of my truck so it doesnt look "grandpa" like.(
-I will have a RTT that will prob have between 2-3 people in it so i need a shell that can come with racks to support that sort of weight.
-I also need a shell with possible luxury amenities as well.

    Thanks for the help fellas

...Would be your second best choice. Any model SnugTop (Rebel, XV etc) with the 'Sportsman's Package' would be your first.

I see the sportsman package can support up to 500 pounds. That will certainly do the job. How much do these thing run? the closest dealer is like 500 miles away. Literally.

Mine was 2k installed. That was with the sportsman's package and a sliding front window. They certainly don't give them away. I believe the LEER is a little less expensive, but according their site is rated for 400lbs. With 3 people up there you might want the extra 100lb rating...
