buy your bedrug from Ebay. they have their own store for remanufactured ones right from them. Saved myself $100 and it's fantastic.

Just scored a sweet Snug Top, Woodsman grade shell. Very high quality, added a Thule top rack as well.

Hey, it's the newest car I've ever owned, just got her yesterday. I've got to get a shell on her ASAP for the dogs, but can only afford a few hundred, so I'm hunting on Craigslist. Posts 121-124 make it sound like if I find a shell with close enough dimensions, I can get the hardware for the rail system and make it work?? Can anyone confirm/deny this? I did find a nice shell from an 04 Taco, but it's 2 hours away, so I'd like to know if it will work before I drive up there. Will it work?
    Thanks
I also plan on mounting my own Thule racks for my surfboards.

Looking for a shell, I'm concerned that a cab hi shell would be too low for me. I'm 6'1 so not real tall but wonder if I should go with a hi line model (leer 180, are mx, snugtop hi line).

Anyone have height issues with their cab hi models? Or suggestions for me? Thanks.

I've been thinking about a taller one myself when I switch to a fiberglass shell. My current Bestop works fine for what I haul, but numerous things have pushed the roof or opening up while loading. Since it's made of canvas that's not an issue, but it would be with a fiberglass one. Things like bikes, couches, a refrigerator.

    yeah, I'm liking the MX.

I think that I will use a bike rack in the receiver hitch if I need to haul my bikes.

I also have the MX, and have no regrets. I really don't see any draw backs for the extra height (I think it looks just as good as a cab hi) plus you have the obvious beneifts of the height. (i.e. my mountain bike just fits standing up, same goes with my snow blower, makes me glad I didn't get a can hi)

I went with the basic snugtop because the windows are more sporty looking. It's my dog box. I cut out the screens so they stick their heads out and they love it. About $1300.00. I got the fold down inside window also so I can access my slider. I love it and no more dogs in the cab.

    Couple questions on functionality:

*Folks with framed in rear doors, anyone have issues with leaks/wear over time (frame moving around), etc at this feature?

    * Any visibility complaints w/ framed rear door and sliding side windows?

    * What is the clearance with the double cab rear slider and cap slider, most folks are finding? Is there any hope of training my three year old to clean both opposing glass surfaces (if I could get him to focus that long)?

Had a used Leer on another truck that was purchased in 2001 for $500 and it pains me to have to make a purchase of $1500 to get something remotely comparable (xl100). Frameless rear door never really leaked and only showed signs of cracking this winter when the lock mechanism did not get its annual degunking. Wondering frameless design holds up better than framed rear doors?

I would think the framed doors have the same rear visability as the frameless. With the frameless glass, the fiberglass returns under the glass to provide the weather seal.
