Can anyone with an ARE MX topper tell me the clearance height of the shell off the ground (stock lift/tires?) I really want to get one but would still like it to fit in my garage. I am planning on getting the a Yakima towers and cross bars but I can always remove those to store the vehicle in my garage.

Add ~ 4" to height of your cab for height of MX cap. (without load bars)

    are_mx_cap.jpg

FWIW, I would get a used one off CL or similar. These are decent caps but definitely not enough attention to detail to justify their cost new. I picked up this 2009 for $250. I had to completely sand the inside of the cap because there were so many areas where you would rip your hand open on fiberglass shards if you ran it over the surface. Had to replace the LED tail light bar because 2/3 of the led's were out. (the replacement light looks to be much better constructed).

Absolutely right. I thought my Spruce Mica was the bees knees but I really like how that turned out. And for $600 including the paint job. EXCELLENT!!! Assume you put the red paint job on the truck.

That's a sexy truck. Paint the bars on the Snugtop black to match the rest and it would be even better.

Had to go with the roof rails and rack, interior cargo net, opening side windows and the keyless entry for the rear hatch. Very happy with it. It's my 3'rd leer.

It's the 100R. I added the slider fold down window behind the cab as well as slider lift windows on both sides. This allows me to get items in and out from both sides of the bed, and ventilation for my animals. This model has the two locks on the back window vs the single handle in the center of the rear window. I was told there are fewer issues with the simpler lock mechanism down the road.
BTW, Leer and Snugtop shells are manufactured in my hometown by the exact same factory. Materials and workmanship are identicle. There may be some finishing details which vary, but the same workers make both product lines. Go with the distributor that gives you the best deal.

The one before that was a Softopper.

The one before that was a SnugTop Rebel (I think).

The very first one was a SnugTop XV.
