Has anyone tried fab-ing their own. I bought an old contractors cap and it fits good, but no windows. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to make it more comfortable for camping as well as for the dog who wont ride in the back unless he can see out a window.

Does anyone know for sure if an AC cap fits a DC, same bed length? I guess my question is whether the lines are the same at the rear of both cabs. I sold my last Leer and am now kicking myself for it. I have a line on a used one that I would have to travel for and want to make sure it will work....Thanks. :)

Just discovered that this has been discussed at length and the consensus is yes the AC's and DC's are interchangeable but the RC has a different angle at the cab rear.

After a very, VERY long time of looking at this thread, I finally can join the club. It's not much, but it fits my budget and my needs. I'll probably try and paint match it some day soon, but for now it works. Ready for camping season now.

if anyone is wondering, it fits a Chevy Colorado, but it fits pretty well on the taco.

    Hello everyone,

I had been looking for a rack system for both the cab and camper that would run flush across the top. For those longer items such as lumber, longboards, ect. I though I was going to have to get something custom made so I made a call to bajaracks. They said they have had several requests over the last 6 months and that they had what I was looking for. Turns out they did. These racks aren't cheap so my expectations were high. They exceeded my expectations. I am very impressed. The packages they can in we're very well thought out and kept the racks protected. The instructions were very clear and used colored pictures. Bolts were all separated out and each bag labeled. They even had a check list of the hardware and you could se where someone hand wrote and checked off each item.

The racks are really nice and mount sturdy to the truck and camper. The rear rack sits about 2 inches taller than the front so will need to see about some shorter mounts to get the racks flush but even with that I am really impressed.

Pictures are poor as I finished this evening in the garage. I will wash the truck and take some daylight photos in the next few days.

Sometimes you just need to get it done so you have something that works. Should serve you well while camping!

I am getting a Lear cap for my truck, ordering the sliding window. Wanted to know some thoughts on the removable sliding window. Thanks

I have a Leer as well and I would highly recommend the removable front window. Makes cleaning the back window of the truck and the shell very easy. It is also very well designed/made, no issues with leaking water. If you are considering it I would go ahead and get it. You will probably regret not having it in the long run.

With the walk in doors what do you do with your tailgate? Do you loose the function of a tailgate? I've never seen one opened.

Get it. I had a Leer 100XQ with the removable front window. Hated the side vent windows, didn't allow enough air for the pups so I sold it. Now, I have a 100XR or 100R and it only has the sliding window. Try and clean all of the dog nose slobber off that window. It's a pain in the ass. Thank God they normally stay toward the rear of the truck where the sliding windows are.

    Question-

My sliding windows are pretty hard to slide open and closed. When I purchased it used, it has some leaves built up. I cleaned those out and tried to wash it out but it's still hard to slide. Any tricks to making this easier to slide? Thanks

You take tailgate off. Do with it what you like. Kinda sux not having one, but makes it easier to reach into the back to get stuff.
