Newb question: How do these shells attach to the rear cab window? The reason I ask is I'd want to have access through my rear sliding window into the shell. Anyone have any pictures?

    LEER SHELL FOR SALE

The shell is painted hot rod black. Has a complete carpet kit included. Inside of shell is lined also. Plenty of storage. there are 3 sliding windows, both side and front window. Just installed an LED light on the inside, and a 9 inch light bar on the rear top of the shell. I have 1300.00 invested. Will let it go for $850.00. Will drive considerable distance to deliver?

I cut some custom window shades from Reflectix insulation for my shell to help keep heat and sun out. it came out really well!

This is the old school way, and it has really fallen out of style. In the old days there was a rubber boot that would press against the cab. The problem was that, it was not really air tight, and that friction would eventually mar and rub the paint off the truck. You can still get shells configured that way as far as I know, but not recommended. (talk to any dealer for more info).

The new way is that they are not connected. There is at least a 1" air gap now and the shell does not touch the cab in anyway.

Thanks for posting these pics. Looks like, other than the base of the mount, they're very similar to the Dewalt.

The one I just bought is similar to one just described. It has a boot that presses up against the window, not against the paint. It isn't meant to be a complete seal but should keep most everything out. We'll see how it works...

Thanks for the response. So the shell would have a sliding window of sorts to allow access from the cab to the back?

There's different options. You can have a solid front glass in the shell. You can have a sliding only or you can get a sliding window that also removes or folds down.

    Just starting...
X2 on fold-down window and slider. The first time I had the back completely packed, I had my emergency equipment right in front. Came in very handy to be able to get jumper cables out for another vehicle without unpacking the whole thing.

X3 on the fold down with slider. Totally worth it to have the option. :)

X4 on fold down front window with slider! Really great option. Of course I love the side windoors as well. Zero regrets

I believe bought a foam pad from CARID.
    http://www.carid.com/bedrug-bed-accessories/bedrug-bed-mat-2089048.html

It is foam with carpet on top. Had it for a year now and it held up well in the summer. Makes a nice kneeling surface and more comfy for camping inside truck. Great for shaking out dirt too. I pulled it out for the winter to avoid it being wet from gear a lot. I had to cut it, but made it fit super snugly with a diagonal cut that fits against the tie down D-Rings in the two rear corners. I rotate the D-Rings around and over the mat and Viola!, it is held in place perfectly...no velcro needed.

Sorry to dig up old post. Can someone tell me if this is SB? I'm on the fence about ordering a shall for my DCSB.
