    I'll start.

    oh-yeah.jpg
1988 Nissan Hardbody. Genesis. The truck that taught me trucks are cool!

    BDVOJON4TUMSR2.jpg
Dad convinced me I needed a "man's size" truck. Bought it with only 5,000 on it. The happiest day of ownership was the day I got rid of it.

    DSC09083.jpg
Back to my roots with a 1995 Nissan Hardbody. This time with a V6. Ahhh, purple with wiggly stickers. The '90s were a different time. Put almost 200,000 miles on this truck all on the original clutch.

    listing_pic_1662523_1558749334.jpg
Honorable Mention: 2002 Dakota Quad Cab. I didn't actually own this. It was a work truck purchased for me. After just one summer it became a complete rattle trap. But it was the perfect size!

    10400262_1083573448174_8218_n.jpg
2005 Tundra Limited. Once again I was tempted by the full-size. But the moon had a tighter turning radius than this thing (and it got stuck everywhere). Sold it in just three years.

    FcrPWxs.jpg
2008 TRD Sport. Gawd I loved this truck. Put almost 200,000 miles on it. The only thing I didn't care for was the 5 Speed AT.

    IMG_20210314_222140_800.jpg
2021 TRD Pro. In a manual. Hoping for a happy 200,000+ of ownership. It's the first time I ordered exactly what I wanted.

Yup. Wanted a Taco or Wrangler since the 90s. When the sidecar had to exit, it really set the wheeling hook, so I had to finally jump in water.

Travel to third world countries taught me that two-wheeled vehicles are vastly underutilized for cargo transportation. Seen here preferring the Zuma to the Tundra. 4864_1190061310304_7554578_n.jpg

    Nice!

I still say that motorcycles are superior transportation. That would include me doing some stupid off roading with my other, definitely a street bike.

Back when I was really obsessed, I would do Costco runs on both bikes. For general stuff, I could get about half a cart loaded in one without anything being seen. The sidecar could swallow a cart full of stuff.

I gotta' tell ya' I desperately want a Ural (or an FJ40) just to trundle forest roads with the dog. In my mind an FJ40 and a Ural are basically the same thing, only the Ural might actually be warmer to operate during the winter months.

That was some of the best times with it. It was a beast in snow and mud, within certain limits. The lack of a low range or a better set of ratios was sort of a big deal.

That said, I had nothing but hell with the driveline. Within 20k from new, motor rebuild, transmission operated on twice, two sets of worn clutches at the friggin' splines, and a final drive rebuild. A friend got one and had an entirely different set of issues, worse than me.

On the warmth side, a friend has a Bronco. He seems to do alright in the cold. With just basic insulated gear, heated grips, and the factory fairing, I was pretty much automotive warm on the commutes down into the teens. Long rides could get cold, but nothing like on a 2wheeled motorcycle.

I still miss the fun of riding it, sliding it, and wheeling it. The worst part is that Ural are the only ones with the killer apps of 2wd and reverse along with a stout frame.

To get it right, they'd need to whip their suppliers into shape, get the factory serious about quality, engineer a better driveline and rear suspension, and possibly go to aluminum for the non-frame parts (tank, tub, etc.).

This doesn’t even scratch the surface. I’ve had many many more. I’m no brand whore. Each manufacturer of truck has made good and bad, some more so than others. I will tell you though, 99-06 GM trucks have some of the best I’ve ever owned, 07 Tahoe was the worst. Last two are my current ones

1st truck and vehicle: Black 1990 Mazda b2200 5 spd, AC. Absolutely loved that thing, lots of fun times at 16 years old! No pics, smart phones weren’t a thing back then, and I didn’t even own a flip phone actually...

4th vehicle and 2nd truck: My beloved 2007 mazda b4000(ford ranger fx4) second best vehicle I’ve ever owned, an absolute tank. That bad boy never let me down and at times I was very rough on it. Drove it to 160k miles then sold it, still drove like a new truck. I did do the maintenance myself with the most expensive filters/fluids. I shed a tear when the guy drove away from my parent’s house driveway. Had that thing for 7 trouble free years. Bought for $12500, sold for $8500 7 years later...

5th vehicle and 3rd truck: of course my sexy 3rd gen taco. Hands down the best vehicle I’ve ever owned! Love this truck! Find every excuse to go drive it even after 3 years of ownership. It’s quick, gets good MPGs for a truck and looks gorgeous, I get compliments all the time. Keeping this guy for at least 15 years! If rear leg room was like 5” more, this truck would’ve been 120% perfect for me.

I don't have any pictures of my old trucks so I found ones online that look the same.

First was a 1980 F-100 Custom. Loved this truck and really wish I never sold it.

Second is the 2006 Chevy Silverado.

More rural living got me into my first truck.
Needed to be a manual in the smallest cab configuration. Could not be happier with my purchase a ‘21 OR AC MT
