How is there not a thread of people posting videos showing off their superchargers yet? I’m dying to find some dirt throwing, loud whining, tire burning videos.

post um if you got um, and you’re lucky enough to be blown!

You’ll be disappointed. There isn’t much whining and not much tire burning to be had with the Magnusson setup. It was nice but not sure it’s worth what they charge now.

IMHO its a waste of money, thats why its not popular on 3Gs.

Like 8 grand for what, 40-50 hp? That thing barely even "whines".

Truck has plenty of power as is, 0-60 in 8 seconds. Nothing to sneeze at.

Driveability, I'm much happier with the low end now vs before. You gotta pay to play

Fair. Hey, if you are happy thats all that matters man.

Personally I find low end torque more then adequate (SFOB on 94 Octane, 4.30 stock gears), thats why i think its a waste of money.

I know nothing about nothing, but im also curious how it affects longevity of the engine, as I am keeping this truck for 15+ years.

100%. I plan on keeping this truck past 200k and 10-15 years so I don't plan on going anywhere

Using only peak torque as a measurement can be misleading because forced induction (and other modifications) can also flatten the torque curve such that high torque is available over a larger range of rpm. People often refer to this as “increased low end torque” or “wide power band”.

That said, I do not know to what extent the magusson supercharger affects the curve beyond increasing the peak slightly.

It’s a noticeable low end increase but not as much as I’d hoped for. At the $4500ish price I paid it wasn’t a terrible cost/performance increase trade off but I wouldn’t be paying the $7200 they sell for now.

I'm in the "they're not worth the cost" camp, but at the same time I think these are so fucking cool! Mazel Tov to those who had the courage to pull the trigger on this pretty serious mod.

    damn you cobro

    On topic.
I’m interested in a maggy as well. With the centrifugal type superchargers that make peak power at high rpm, that’s NOT where my truck spends its time.
when loaded and driving, my 3rd gen spends majority of its time from 2-4K rpm (currently with 4.88s). If the maggy can, and probably will, add the needed power/torque in that range and be more impressive with the added OTT tune, I’m game.
Would love to see more OTT tuned Maggie’s post about

Im not looking for tire shredding power. But is there a drastic enough increase in the ability to carry itself/weight up elevation or hills?
Others often state the hp/$ ratio is poor…which I’m on the fence about. Forced induction ain’t quite cheap when done proper regardless (unless you can fab and do your own tuning).
My question is, how’s the drive-ability? If your truck is loaded with 800-1000lbs or towing a trailer, would you have what you want power wise? Stay in 4th and cruise with ease?
I can currently stay in 4th going up steep elevation, but my foot is into the throttle a little more than what I’m comfortable with. It’s borderline ready to scream to 3rd.
    I’m not interested in a 5 second 0-60

i dont carry heavy loads and my tires are only 265/75/r16. So i cant comment on that aspect. I dont need for power anymore in any situation.
