you will rub your frame rail near the rear LCA mount pretty badly. I rubbed there a bit with 4.3"BS wheels. And you will probably rub your UCAs

What is the minimum entry for running 35s? I'm trying to get my build plans laid out for the next phases.

    CMC, UCAs, aftermarket wheels, tires?

Is a lift required? Does it need to be a true 3" lift on the 3rd gen, not the typical 3" lift that's actually only 2" on 3rd gens?

You need aftermarket wheels or wheel spacers, as aggressive of a cmc as possible, UCAs (SPC arms make it the easiest), hammer the pinch weld and firewall back, remove fender liner, trim fenders and flares. A lift is not "required" because it still bottoms out at the same spot, but I wouldn't trust the stock suspension to handle the extra stress caused by 35s

I'm running a 6" lift and still rub up front at the bottom outer rear side of the fender. even with a little trimming. 12.5 wide tires though.

    STT Pro life!

Also, re: guy asking about regear- was that advice considering that he's a stick and already on 4.30s? I dunno if 4.88s will 'feel' that much different. #529life!

No BL. I will be tubbing soon. Currently, they do not rub lock to lock on the street. I have SPC UCAs set all the way forward to the G setting. I plan on doing the tub job at the same time as replacing LCA bushings, cam tab hardware, cam tab gussets, spindle gussets, and probably dropping the front about an inch to set rake where I want it.

This way, I can get one alignment and be done with it. The only other thing dittins in my parts pile is my ARB Safari snorkel to install so that my 4Runner will look like Jacques Cousteau add out on another adventure.

That's gonna be a big project! I was with @Flemster when he tubbed his, and I think it was like a 9 hour day. Worth it though!

Haha.. Yeah.. not looking forward to it, but what must be done, must get done. Altering fender body panels makes me nervous too, but it seems like everyone running 35s with no BL ends up shaving fenders about an inch or so. I also need to punch a big hole in my passenger side fender for my new snorkel, so I have THAT to look forward to. In the end.. It will be bad ass though.

Nice, I’m super jelly of the 35’s. Who did your regear? I’m on 4.30’s and they do well with 33’s, but 35’s are in my future.

Hit me up if you and @wilson704 ever hit any “local” trails.
