@90yota Thanks for the pointers regarding working these fenders via IG. Still trying to find the sweet spot, then gotta dial in the alignment.

Thanks boss, appreciate it! I’m sure after this winter, the Kings will likely be the same color as your set.

Took about a week and a half, but that was also Thanksgiving week so that might have delayed it

ECGS did my regear. I went with 4.88s and it’s great with 35s. They actually recommend I not do 5.29 gears. We are doing a snow run at hurricane creek Tuesday if your available

I’m curious, why did they recommend not doing 5.29s

I was told I would lose a lot more top end speed for what it’s worth. I do a lot of highway driving at 70+ so they recommended me with 4.88. East Coast Gear Supply are the ones that did the install and they are a trusted shop so I decided to go with there recommendation.

I was worried/curious about that. Many 70mph zones here in central VA and on my way to camp in PA. I found a couple of spots in Western MD where the stock gearing struggled to hold 65-70mph in 4th and that had me thinking 5.29s.

That’s good to know. I am waiting for more people to try the 5.29s before I make my decision. There’s a lot of 75mph zones here in Colorado, and you’re usually the slow person if you are going 75

Yeh most of the speed zones near me are 65+. I’m no expert when it comes to gearing but I did try to do my own research online after ECGS recommendation. I noticed it really varies on personal preference. Some guys said they didn’t notice a loss of top-end while some guys said they did.

My past experience with 35s and 5.29s was in a 94 4Runner, and that thing topped out at like 75mph in 5th gear haha. But I figure an extra gear and an extra 150hp might make 5.29s still drivable at high speeds

Still have fender trimming and firewall bashing to do. Fender liners will be fun. I think they are needed. I am thinking of keeping the liner tabs on the fenders and sort of cutting around them and bending them in. I hope I can maintain some mounting points. Spare even fits well on the back but I did have to move the propane tank over some.

The BFG km3’s were 34 1/4 inch tall on these 17x8.5 33psi. These wheels are zero offset and I am running 1 1/4 inch spacers currently. I had read the bfg run smaller than other 315’s. Not sure if that is the case as I did not have others to measure but I am happy they are no bigger than they are now.

Alpine designs cabmount relocation gives lots of room. Firewall is the issue now. 74518038-ADFB-4881-AEF7-C9A079429A40.jpg7E11A46B-584F-4346-969D-252B6ABCC2F7.jpg

How was the install? The site is pretty minimal, but is it pretty straight forward - hack off the old and weld this in? Any install pics? Thanks man

Also when I cut my liners, I made some relief cuts, pulled them up and screwed them into the fenders where the flares covered. . Just gotta patch the cuts afterwards
