Ok.. so a couple questions regarding the above mentioned iDatalink Maestro RR and its compatibility with MY taco.

The truck originally came with the JBL package. I have since then gutted it, ran all new speaker wire, RCA's, etc. I made new connections behind the HU with a basic Toyota stereo harness. I just dont know how much of what I cut up is left, and or is going to work with what I need for the Maestro unit.

Its my understanding that you buy the harness specific for your vehicle, plug it into the maestro and your factory harness (just like any other HU install), and thats it. BUT.. if I have a cut up factory harness already, do I.. 1) Even need that vehicle specific harness? and 2) will it even be possible with a cut harness?

if I can get it worked out wiring wise, this is what Im thinking..

iDatalink Maestro RR with T01 harness and a new Pioneer AVH-4200NEX

You should be fine. It just needs the main wires to turn everything on/off. No speaker wires needed. Pretty straight forward install.

I did mine 2 yrs ago. So I forgot most of it. But it took a while. And two wires tap in to the ecu. Im thinking I bought the universal one cause at the time they didn't have plug in play harness yet. Glad you could make it happen with your deck. It's a cool feature.

There might be some wiring that we have to figure out. I don't remember how much of your harness is hacked into and what's left. And yes, you'll need a different HU.

yeah thats what I cant remember either. lol I gotta get back in there. need to anyways.. still having issues with what I hope is just my RCA cable. the fading in and out is still consistent, yet sporadic.

and definitely a new HU. I've been wanting that 4200NEX for a while now. the fact it is compatible with all the features from the Maestro, I'm sold.

I believe you can hook your factory aux to the back and continue to use that. I have CarPlay for Apple so I had to run a lightning cable from the back and through an empty slot next to the aux plug in.

97% done with the interior. Just need a couple trim pieces, and the LED's replaced then it's done for now..
