That setup ruined me. My new truck sounds great.... but 6.5”s on the dash made that thing so fun!

Pioneer AVH-1330nex with a Scosche kit in a 2009 Tacoma. Not too happy with the dash kit but the stereo is awesome. Added a KTM logo background and colors to match the OEM orange in the cab.

I've got a Sony XAV-AX100 with adapters to integrate both sets of steering-wheel controls. Overall a decent unit, but it has one annoying "feature": every time it's powered on, you have to click-thru a safety screen. Other than that, it works flawlessly with Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay (wired). It supports rear-view camera, but I don't have one (yet). The unit's mapping of steering-wheel control inputs is very flexible ... sort of like programming a universal remote where you map whatever button-press to the function you want.

Aesthetics are nice ... clean-looking, and overall ergonomics are good.

Can I ask what you didn't like about the dash kit? I'm getting ready to purchase a new stereo and have read positive things about the Scosche kit, that is what I'm leaning towards purchasing.

    Thanks

Does anyone have a black faced OEM radio laying around? Need the faceplate for an experiment so radio doesn't even need to work. I can't post to marketplace yet because of the 50 post requirement.

Also looking for pre 2012 Tacoma's.. mine is a 2007

    Hi,
So question..reciently rode with a friend that has apple CarPlay and seemed pretty cool and gave me that itch to get it as well. Currently have a Kenwood dpx500bt 6D826268-E40C-45AC-92E4-9EDFF45F48BF.jpg
It had basic Bluetooth capabilities. My truck is 08 with basic audio controls, no phone answer etc.
But I was thinking of going to this...https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-6...n-dash-receiver-black/5664822.p?skuId=5664822
    The Sony xavax100
    1. Would it be worth it? Is Apple CarPlay that much more useful for daily driving over standard Bluetooth controls?
